I thought this was a control thing too otherwise I wouldn’t understand why she was so happy with herself 😅 Doing this must bring control in her life, she must have gone through something for her to develop this behaviour. Everyone has problems. Would be nice if she could go out of her way and spend some extra money to see her kids enjoy the holidays, even if it doesn’t make her happy. yeah, it reminds me of this other episode where the lady didn't want to buy her kid clothes, but also said "if i just give her 20$ that completely takes me out of the equation" or something like that, so it seemed like it was less about the money and more being able to have full control over what her daughter wore. the ones who don't have spouses and kids are fine, if you wanna live like you're broke and you're not bothering anyone it's whatever, but then the ones with families always want to force their cheap ways on their families and it's frustrating.

Moral of the story: don’t have kids unless you try to take care of them.

I am SO glad my parents were never like that. Friends of mine were always included, always got their own tickets and food etc, and even if you really don't have the money, look for free alternatives. For example, when I went to London, I took free walking tours, went to Parks and markets and drove a normal bus line instead of the tourist bus and still got to see everything of London for a tenth of 5he price. You have to know where you can save money without (!) the kids really noticing. Like friends of mine often went camping and hiking because that was cheap, but their parents never said they were doing it because of that but enhanced the nature aspect.

She seems low-key absuive. 2 showers a week is not enough especially for a teenager. It's one thing to save money but she has control issues, might be a narcissist.

Me too, it is good health to have a shower everyday, and use deodorant especially teens

Really hard to find a friend that didn’t judge you and understand how your family is.

When I went through basic training we had 10-15 minute showers but we showered everyday. This woman is insane young ladies have to keep themselves clean. It’s a necessity for women to be clean.

Ain’t no one not even my mama gon tell me how many times I’m allowed to shower💀

She is a single mother in Denver, CO and I have heard Denver is really expensive so at least she is doing something to combat this.

It's kindness of family, friends,strangers....that keeps these ppl going, not their "skills"

The thing I hate about these cheapskates is that they inconvenience others in almost everything they do so THEY can save money. I don't think they realize how much it makes others want to avoid them. I have some really cheap friends and I like them as people but I just stopped inviting them places as much because they want me to pay for things or will want to eat at cheap places to save a few dollars.

You could at least save $3,000 a year instead of $300 not living in Denver. Denver is literally like the most expensive city through the US. I respect everything they do but the only thing I find weird is they only take 2 showers a week for 10 mins. But yes, like I said, I respect everything they do.

What are they saving the money for???? There’s no point if your not saving for anything

The tea bag thing was kinda smart, and at least her house is clean most of the time the houses are messy

Could have grocery shopped once they got to Vegas. I took my daughters on a trip to DC for about $1,000. Plane tickets $410, hotel $380, and we ate breakfast at the hotel. Lunch was at a restaurant and dinner was food from the dollar tree that a shuttle bus took us to. And all the museums were free!

Imagine your mum saying you can only take 2 shower a week? Nah ma you nasty 🤢

a 10-15 minute shower if if I'm doing my hair and it's longer than normal (as a guy) I shower every day, but if I'm not doing my hair then I can get clean in like 3-4 minutes. So I'd rather do 3 mins a day every day 10 mins once a week than 10 twice a week

just move to Iquitos Peru. It is pointless to take shower there as the minute you get out you are all sweaty again. You would be better off going outside with flipflops naked when it is rainy season.

I was only allowed to take a 4 minute shower once a week because my dad said I was a waste of water. I got bullied in school for always smelling and having greasy hair whilst my dad had 2 hour baths almost everyday. I got put into foster care in the end.

She has teen daughters. How does she do that 2 shower stuff when they have periods? Is she gonna force them go just be all gross everyday before their 2 days?

I have to shower once a day or I feel gross, sometimes I'll shower before work and again after work, I love going to bed after a shower and I love starting my day with a shower. I'd feel so gross if I only showered twice a week

Being frugal where you can is a great way to save and teach your kids the value of money, but you also need to ENJOY your money too! Life is short and having fun is so important!

In Australia we are encouraged to take 4 minute showers, there are usually water restrictions in place
