Over the Christmas break, I decided to do a little creative play and cover some of my boring, cheap sketchbooks in pretty papers and fabrics. Aesthetics are important to me and I found that a sketchbook that didn't feel like my style wasn't as enticing to use. I've been in them daily since making new covers. When I shared them on social media, so many people asked how I made them, so here is a complete tutorial with materials and detailed instructions to cover your own notebooks and sketchbooks with papers, fabrics, and ribbons that feel like "you."

Papers (these should be on the thicker side.) I am using Wanderlust Paper Co papers for this project, but a thick wrapping paper, wallpaper sample, or scrapbooking paper will work.
Fabric (for the spine)
