Bro was worried about how much a new radio would cost in his Lamborghini 😂
@DSoSJohnH
6 ай бұрын
@@TheEudaemonicPlague So true about it being easy. tbf, when I was 17, my first radio install I did stupid. Didn't know about pigtail adapters, so I cut the wires. Learned pretty quickly that was a stupid mistake. Luckily, I had cut the wires with sufficient lengths on both ends. A quick solder job and heat shrink fixed it. Got the pigtail and got it working right. Never had any issues with it after that. What should have taken like 30 minutes or less turned into 8 or so hours. My second and beyond radio installs was done right the first time. I remember warning a friend not to cut the wires to the radio when he wanted to install his own. I told him if he did, I wouldn't fix it. Sure enough, the next week he called asking if I could come and install his radio. I went over, looked at it, said nope, that a you issue. I warned you. Have fun. He got it fixed weeks or a month later, after paying, iirc cartoys, to fix it.

If you can't afford the repairs or speeding tickets, don't buy the car lol. When I was younger, I wanted a Lamborghini, but now I want something that's dependable and fairly slow because I have a heavy foot and this state has some screwed up speeding laws.

I've had both a couple of Ferraris a 308 GT4 Dino and a 348, along with a Lamborghini Jalpa and if you are going to own one you better keep money in the bank because they are not cheap to work on. I've since replaced those with a Maserati Quattroporte and a Biturbo while they are cheaper to repair you should never let the neighbor work on them. Lucky me I used to work for a gentleman who owned some dealerships back in the day and raced them for fun so I can work on them. But not many mechanics can properly tune four Webber two barrel carburetors nowadays. So thanks boss.

It's not great, but bear in mind ignition temp of gasoline is around 450-500, and the hottest part of the engine is the exhaust manifold, and while they say they can get up to 500, realistically exhaust manifolds rarely get that hot, that would be under extreme performance, and the tailpipe will be a lot cooler. Even so, wouldnt drive like that. Very stupid installation.
@zenithperigee7442
7 ай бұрын
@@bluedistortions , I've never tried to measure those temperatures but I'd imagine highway driving would create significantly more heat all of the way to the tail pipe AND most of all the thing to consider is ambient temperature. Imagine the differences in metallic temperature driving 50mph for 5 miles on a 60° day versus a 95° day. Consider that even tho the engine still maintains it's "normal operating temperature", on a 95° day you couldn't touch the engine block for "a second" before it feels like you're being scalded... As for exhaust, if we're to believe those temperatures exiting the cylinders can be ~1,200+ degrees, it's not unreasonable to think that the rest of the exhaust system can reach sustained temps of at least half that....

I love this. I spent my high school years pumping gas and repairing flats at a very busy old school full service filling station with 3 mechanics and a car wash. My favorite thing was to greet the tow truck and get the story. The best ones are when the customer knows something is wrong, but just keeps driving. The number of times in these clips that the customer attempts their own repair when they clearly don't know what they are doing is just amazing to me.

"The best ones are when the customer knows something is wrong, but just keeps driving." I never understood this. My last "major" car issue was on my way home and my car suddenly developed a major misfire. It sounded at first really bad. I pulled over, poked around under the hood and found one spark plug wire had rubbed and grounded itself occasionally. Ultimately, I did a redneck fix using an off-brand of superglue. Basically filled in the hole and around it and let it cure overnight. Why? I couldn't buy just one plug wire and the set was over $100 for parts and I know superglue, in this situation, would work just fine, and it did. I continued to drive it for a solid several months until I ended up sick and stopped driving. I'm recovering, the the superglue trick is still working. I had to do another redneck repair on the air intake hose because apparently that is a part I can't buy anymore and that car is never found in junk yards. So, special tape mixed with exhaust wrap did the trick. Not ideal, but it's been working for a few years now.
I love how it goes from someone saying their radio won’t turn on without pressing the power button to the most unsafe, half assed worst ‘repair’ imaginable 😂😂

There's a couple of possibilities here. 1. The customer was too cheap to pay for a balancing, which is never a good idea on new tires. 2. The customer did pay for a balancing, and the tech lied about doing one. 3. The tech heard his tools rattling around and was just like.. fudge it. And rattle gunned it back on the car. Working in a tire care center, I can say I've seen this kind of stuff left and right. Nobody cares about the quality of their work anymore. BUT.. as for myself, I try to do a good job, but one time I did lose a small socket in a tire when I was tightening up a wheel sensor, and didn't notice the socket was missing off my nutdriver until the customer was gone. So shit does happen sometimes.

I live in the states and work as a mechanic. When I lived in LA, the inspection was mostly SMOG stuff. It's a desert so there's never a rust issue and very very rarely will you see a corroded shit box driving around. It's mostly just emissions. I moved to a place that snows (and therefore salt on the roads) that has an annual inspection that's not just emissions, and it absolutely blows my mind the level of dangerous shit is on the roads and is still acceptable to these state inspection. I've had trucks come in for basic maintenance and half of the chassis is literally crumbling away in my hands. And 9/10 times those customers are the ones who refuse any services and think they know better. I really wish that was illegal.

the frame cut for the oil pan was gold
For real tho anyone who keeps their car as cluttered and filthy as 4:02 should genuinely have the cops called on them for extreme dangerous driving and have their license revoked for allowing it to get that bad in the first place. They should not be allowed drive that shit till its cleaned out and safe to use of having no vision and possible projectiles.
12:05 He called the "Cold Air Intake" what it usually really is, a WARM air intake.

the intake was badly positioned. it was near the engine so it sucked the heat too, that’s why he sarcastically called it a warm air intake
