Same thing happened to me last year. I took my new suburban to the dealer for its third oil change. They didn’t put oil in it and blew the engine. The 6.2 was 8 grand. Fortunately they owned up to it and put a brand new 6,2l engine in it. However the workmanship was not the best and I wound up trading it in on a new one.

Years ago I took my 01 Acura TL to the dealership for an oil change and noticed it was leaking oil when I got it back. Turns out, they over torqued the drain plug and stripped the threads. I wound up having to pay for a new oil pan thanks to their mistake. I vowed never to take my car to a dealership for service again. This story reinforces my decision. What that dealership did was inexcusable, and I think the owner has the grounds to sue for the cost of the engine replacement.

She did contact the insurance they did get involved, but they had a hard time for some reason proving that the dealer ship did anything wrong. I’ve been in business 86 years. This is the worst I’ve ever seen any person treated by a dealership. The insurance company was very polite, but they were no help.

At this point It is Time to get the STATE involved this is not easy and there is in most States there is some thing Called assured drive-ability if you have all the receipts for the work this action goes after the license of the dealer if they worked on the CAR or TRUCK the Lawyer is one way the other and can not be the same , as the State Action the Lawyer can help but can not do it there is reasons both actions should get the bill paid i know of this in the workings of this KEEP> ALL THE PAPER WORK YOU WILL NEED IT each State is different hope this helps GOOD LUCK

I can do you one better! My buddy Mani just paid $16,000 to replace his motor on his 2023 BMW M1000RR Competition with a whopping 470 miles on it! They refused the warranty claim due to a 250rpm over rev allegedly. There really are some 💩y businesses out here in the world. I own a 2022 BMW M1000RR Competition & 2020 BMW S1000RR Competition and I'm pretty disgusted with the entire situation. Awesome job on doing what you could for these people and hopefully you earned a lifetime a customer.

You would have to prove that they did it intentionally but the dealerships liability insurance should have covered the engine and replacement since it was in their care and control. I've heard too many horror stories about oil change places forgetting to add oil, tighten drain plugs, dropping rags into the engines. I do my own oil changes if I F up and forget something it's on me never trusted quick change oil places or dealerships never will!

I’m surprised she doesn’t just go to an oil change place where you stay in the car. Instead she went to the rip off artist dealers who sell cars for too much and do repairs for too much. Funny how they turned messing up the car into an opportunity to do a really expensive repair. You could buy a great vehicle for 13 k especially if you didn’t buy it at the dealer
