📚Description: Davidson's Wellstrung guitars has incredible inventory. They specialize in not just your typical vintage guitars, but the weird one-off / special orders and that is something I can get excited about because there weren't THAT many back then as opposed to now. I'd love to document them but sadly, I don't have that kind of budget for my channel haha

Trogly, my friend, I've been a guitar player for 33 years. And I've NEVER wanted a Gibson. I love epiphone. But never understood the thing about Gibsons. But I've been watching your show for 2 years now, and NOW I find myself looking for a Gibson. Ya talked me into it. And no one has EVER changed my mind about them, but you have. Thank you good sir. Love the content! I always look forward to watching Trogly when I get home from work. Rock on brother.

You should come and check out my collection video that I recently uploaded. I have a total of 76 Epiphone's and also a lot of other guitars. I'm also a huge Epiphone lover and I also own a few Gibsons. But honestly, the quality control of the later Gibsons has let me down a lot of times lately. So, I'm sticking to Epiphone. Preferably the older (Korean) ones! Greetings from The Netherlands!
My in laws owned a house in Barbados for 30+ years. Absolutely beautiful country, with wonderful people. I’m not gonna sit here and pretend that I’ve played a Gibson, from the golden era, in all the time I spent there, but most guitars I did touch down there, definitely didn’t react well to the weather on the island. Always warped or humidity damaged. The handmade South American guitars were fantastic. Most other imports not so much. In 2024, air conditioning is prevalent. In 1990, it was still a luxury. There’s likely a shortage of qualified techs also. Most of the guitars sold are at their version of Sam’s Club. I’d, personally, have that one checked over before I bought it.
Tony Mottola what a career that guy had! Brilliant musician
Fantastic guitars. They were all great. The Tele was amazing.
dude, this batch of guitars is absolutely bonkers! i never knew there was a 12-string Firebird.
That SG bass six was so cool! I can only imagine the doom metal that could be played on it

Elvis Presley had one of those too.
Let's go with the day-glo Telecaster!! 🎸
Big fan of the channel Trogly it was awesome to see a guitar with my name on it love the vids keep up the good work 👍👍👍
Drooooll, beautiful 😍
That knight headstock inlay is AWESOME. I've never seen that before and now I want that on a Les Paul Custom.
Could not concentrate on that tenor at all, because the guy apparently also owns ALL THE TRIPLE PICKUP CUSTOMS.
Gibson EB 6. Steve Howe used one on The Steve Howe album alongside that The Les Paul you talked with him about recently that you have back in your collection.
I've always wanted a Ghost Tele , rare as hens teeth.
UV triggered guitar shows they were still trying lol. Incredible idea!!!
I would buy an SG Bass 6 right now for a grand, if they reissued them!!!!! TAKE MY MONEY!!!!!!

you can build one using a epiphone eb0
J S Peterson..that was the dude on Seinfeld..he was famous for the urban Sombrero! 🤣🤣🤣🤣...oh wait that was J.Peterman 😁🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
LOVE the Tony Mottola guitar! That would be one to re-issue
David Davidson used to be the vintage guitar buyer for Sam Ash and was based out of their Carle Place, NY store. I bought quite a few guitars from him and he definitely knows his stuff. I haven't been to his Farmingdale location.
wow! Absolutely nutty and cool :)
I'm trying to decide if I love or hate some of these!😂
Those were really special soldiers. I really like your Crest. 🙄 Have you ever gone thru that on the show? I'd like a run thru of that.

As always, Nice Work! WooF!!🐶🐶
11:41 Bonamassa has one and he sayed they are way better dounding than a bass six i definitely believe it
For best Firebird 7, surely its a toss between a Cardinal red or the Black Nickel in this Video.
Have they ever made a Birdland looking guitar with the Florentine cutaway but with a center block like a 335 so it didn’t feed back so much and may be a longer scale of the short scale that I would love to have one of those maybe in white
I just saw on fb market there's someone selling her father's collection. Including a Special like you recently reviewed. I just saw at least 2 butterscotch blonde Telecasters the same place but they were mx models. Also saw a couple of aged white Stratocasters there too.
Trogly , you’re hilarious! Keep the content coming!
Anyone know what case will work for a Yamaha Revstar?
Wow so many cool guitars !...Too bad the ' J.S.Peterson' guitar does'nt have the initials ' J.B.Peterson ' otherwise the clinical psychologist from Canada could buy it !...I love the Darth Vader Firebird- VII in factory Black/Ebony , So cool ! Thanks Trogly !
Hmmmm interesting. Some of those are awesome!
Tony Mottola was an easy listening picker, a few notches below Chet Atkins, but still kind of a big deal from the mid 1960s to the late 1970s. That's quite a collection there, ALWAYAS good to see a Tenor, that's not my cheapo Martin copy.
Cool
9"42" Barney Kessel?
Know your heraldry. That headstock was a coat of arms with a crest. The knight and castle is the crest. Below that is the coat of arms. The coat of arms was often displayed on shields and other items. A minor piece of information but your description did bother me. Sorry.
Anybody know what Jan Ackermann is playing with Focus on the famous Midnight Special episode? At first glance, it looks like an LP, but on closer examination, I don't think it is.

@RoboSteave. That was originally a LP Personal. According to biog i read, the guitar was damaged in a car accident and Akkerman had it stripped back, a new maple cap and conventional hardware. I even went to Gibson Memphis while on vacation there, they told me Gibson never made a model like that, it must be a custom build. Hope that helps.

@@russellmorgan5611 Thanks so much. Yes, that really helped. It checks out. What was throwing me was that the fretboard ended in an angle. That and the shape of the horn. Looked at the Personal model and saw both of those. Thanks again.
I have seen a ghost Tele in the early 70's
that Knight Headstock is the coolest thing as European Dude ive ever seen here where knights actually excisted and im as Gibson Nerd i dont know that excisted 😮

@Trog I don't think many people know that Wayne Charvel was working for B.C. Rich at about the same time. Look at the body horns on the WRC and an ST/Gunslinger of the same era, and there's a definite similarity

Berny guitar fret wear was crazy
I actually know Bernie Smith.
@gibgibGG
14 күн бұрын
It looked like there was a slight dip on the frets below each string on his guitar. Was that something he had done at the factory? Or by a luthier? Or did it occur naturally? If it didn't happen through playing what was his idea for having it done?
@wiseguy9202

@@gibgibGG To be honest, I just knew him. He had many guitars so I'm not super familiar with the details of this particular one. Knowing what I know now, I wish I had paid more attention to this type of stuff.
Bernie might have PAFs.

Thank you Trogly I totally love these rare guitars. I wish I owned some of these beautiful babies.
