Thanks Roger I didn't know if it would work at first but it worked good. Using the lathe to remove old welds took 2 hours.

When your shaving metal off a item on a lathe you should be using cutting fluid or lubricant of some kind

You can't see but I was. If you look at the sparks when I cut it down it is hard tool steel so alittle harder to cut on a small lathe

@@BSSMALLENGINES I didn't see you put any lubricant the harder the metal the more lubricant you use and if your cutting hardened steel should be using dedicated cutting fluid

If it off it just a hair if it was on a car I would be worried more but on a go kart I think it will be find

You could of just Used the lathe to make a hex Bushing to go inside The Orginal Hub hex you cut off or you could of used a drill press like a mill
