Curved for your pleasure: Japanese Hammer Handle 玄能

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

Even before I started woodworking, I had always been very fond of Japan and its culture. So naturally, when I went to Japan for the first time after I picked up woodworking as a hobby, I had to get myself some Japanese tools. Now keep in mind that I'm a beginner. I had no idea what tools I wanted, I just knew I wanted to buy something from Japan. At first, I wanted to challenge myself by buying a Japanese Plane Blade and making the plane body myself. But I decided that it was a bit too much for my current skill level, so I settled with this Japanese Hammer (Genno / 玄能) head. Here it is, a video of me trying my best to make a handle for a hammer that I will enjoy using for years to come! Enjoy, and thank you!
This handle is inspired by ‪@ThirdCoastCraftsman‬ and ‪@CowDogCraftWorks‬ videos on the same project. Also, huge thanks to ‪@WoodcraftBySuman‬ for his help throughout the project!
