The 90s was THE era of the power ballad...and great sax solos....and great vocalists like this! What a great decade for music of all genres! I know nostalgia can play tricks on you and make you think things were better in hindsight than they really were but, man, I miss those times! For the music and entertainment at least..

11 year old me remembers sitting in my garage, with a crappy little radio at 11 at night on a Friday. It was raining, mid fall. Leaves were starting to turn and fall, the warm air mixed with rain and leaves, blowing in the warm winds. And there's me, sitting in my garage, wondering to myself where life will take me. 40 year old me is sitting in my office, looking at a late fall day listening to this. Looking out the glass, thinking of 11 year old me. Full circle, my friends. This song really takes me back, so soul shockingly beautiful.

Nostalgia to the max, takes me back to childhood.

Why wasn't this a bigger hit? Why didn't Curtis Stigers soar? I was first attracted to that sax playing and then wow he can sing too! I remember hearing this on the radio and rushing to buy the CD. Still have it.

Curtis, thank you so much for bringing this song to life. it was because of this song that I even became a saxophone player in the first place. Saw the great man performing to an audience of a couple of hundred people in Kilkenny 2 nights ago . Mesmerising performance. If you get a chance don't hesitate to go . Brilliant artist and performance

You may find yourself with tears in your eyes, right about the time you hear those words, but with no idea why. You know this came from Curtis' soul. Crushing and elevating at the same time, it's achingly beautiful. It's one of those songs that, if you wrote it and never another, could validate a career on its own. The saxophone, an instrument lacking in current music, is just the cherry on top.

When a song is This good, it always intrigues me that it could register even one thumbs down, let alone a few hundred, but they always do. I get that people have different tastes, but this is a timeless masterpiece, so how could anyone dislike it enough to give it a thumbs down. I can only think that the thumbs down come from either (a) genuine errors i.e. accidentally clicking it or clicking the wrong one (b) tone deaf individuals (c) trolls who like to be always negative or (d) those who may have been at least ok with the song but don't like the video per se.

@Fredrick Frederickson I did say "nearly" 30 years old..... It was released in 1991, so in 2019 (4 yrs ago), unless my maths is wrong, it was 28 yrs old. In my book that's close to 30 yrs old and I equate "nearly" with "close to". It's now of course 32 years old - how time flies.

Takes me back to very happy days as a child, love this one :)

This is going to tell you how old I am. I heard this song, and I had to breakout my cassette of this song. I still love this song. Curtis is a very underrated singer.

Ahh younger people will never know the dread of hearing that sound when you think your favourite cassette tape ess getting chewed up by the player. Then the careful job of winding it all back up again with a pencil 🤣
