I just returned from a cruise on MSC today. I and some of my fellow travelers felt that the dining on the buffet was really good! However the formal dining was subpar in our opinion. Oftentimes I would skip the formal dining and go straight to the buffet where I knew that I would be satisfied. I didn't have any major issues with the bar. You simply walk up and there's usually a young lady there or someone who will take your order and basically repeat it to the gentleman making the juices or drinks behind the bar. I would say that it took no more than two or three minutes tops. If that. Also there is a bar on the ship that has freshly squeezed orange juice which was absolutely delicious

I sailed with MSC Seascape in April this year and am going again in 14 days. It may well be that you get what you pay for, but we all have different approaches to everything, even our taste for food and entertainment. I have been on Cruise about 8 times I have only sailed with MSC, based on the price I am very satisfied, I am also not as demanding as many other people are so I have no opinion about other Cruise lines, maybe it is time for a change

Thank you for your contribution to this conversation, and you are absolutely right about taste for food and entertainment, which is why my husband and I decided to take the plunge in spite of all the negative reviews. MSC has some gorgeous vessels at sea, and we couldn't resist the pricing. I say, if you are pleased with MSC, then by all means, why "rock the boat"? Same i have also always only sailed msc due to price and have had all good experiences! It’s the only cruise line i can afford and it’s better than nothing! I love the food.

I agree, l love msc and the food has always been amazing. I have been on 7day seaside and 2 day Divina, going on 7 day seascape in September for free from casino offer and I'm excited. Even the dessert is good because usually cruise desserts are horrible 😂. But yes l think people let others reviews get stuck in their head and they expect too much. Just go and enjoy. Try new foods, and give different shows a chance , you won't like everything but you will find somethings you do like. The price is compared to other ships and worth it especially the kids clubs they won't want to leave.

I appreciate your review. Scheduled to sail in a few weeks and I won't be surprised. We will eat when we dock at every stop for sure. Wish me luck!

I'm on MSC Seascape as we speak. We had a good time but don't think we'll cruise with MSC again. Food wasn't that good, very bland. Service was okay, not great. Other passengers, particularly some European, very rude. Elevator situation wasn't great. Getting back on board after visiting islands was very slow. MSC doesn't have the amount of staff that other cruise lines do. We made the best of it. A lot of unsupervised children as well.

Thank you for choosing MSC Cruises. We know you have many choices when it comes to choosing a cruise line and rest assured you have undoubtably chosen ...... the cheapest. This sums up MSC beautiful ships but if you want top notch food and service pay up on another line the food isn't bad the service isn't bad but compared to more expensive lines it is. That said my seascape cruise booked less than a month before sail date was about $500 cheaper than a comparable Royal cruise and $300 cheaper than Carnival.

We just got back from sailing on the Seascape. I agree with most of your review, but it is an Italian ship and I found the pizza was wonderful along with the pastas. The staff were amazing for us, as we had to kids with food alergies. The staff went above and beyond with our kids food selections. My only complaint was the disembarkment, it was horribe. We had purchased airport shuttle service and we were not given tickets or the correct time to leave the ship. This might keep us from ever sailing with them again. We did think Ocean Cay was an amazing private island though.

Great review, it’s what I had expected. I just got off the Explorer of the Seas and while she might need some TLC (I prefer her sister the Navigator), the food for the most part was excellent.

Meraviglia? That was my 1st cruise with them..beautiful ship

Also be aware that the beverage fountains serve fruit juices However there is no sugar added It's almost like lemon in water.

You have confirmed what we have heard about MSC ... sad that they seem to not be improving after so many people have expressed their displeasure with them. We have been on NCL, RCL and Celebrity. We like Celebrity best in terms of food, ambiance and many other things. RCL and NCL has much more for kids and families to do. NCL has gotten to the point where they nickle and dime you for every little thing so we have stopped with them. We enjoyed much about RCL except the smoking was so overwhelming we cancelled all future cruises with them because our clothing reeked after cruising with them. Celebrity had no smoking in any common area and the food was the best of any line we had been on so we have stuck with them in the past year.

Ah yes, Celebrity is the best for a relaxed luxury experience, in my opinion. It gives that true "adults only resort" feel because the ships are not over run with kids. The food is a bit elevated, and so it the service level. The buffet is quite organized and spacious on there as well and you don't feel like you have to get up super early in order to avoid being crushed by the hungry masses. Celebrity is a great cruise!

I normally sail with Royal Caribbean (10 points shy of Double Diamond!) but have sailed on MSC 4 times (Divina, Seashore and Meraviglia twice) and will be sailing on Seascape in 2 weeks from when I post this comment. I agree with a lot that was said in this video, especially when it comes to the food where I find the lack of variety and quality to be disappointing. Overall I think MSC fine if you look at it as a budget line and have proper expectations going in. Reason why I have been sailing MSC of late is due to cost as recent RC cruises were priced quite high by comparison, but I think I'm going to just have to suck it up and go back...

Totally agree, and congrats on almost reaching double diamond status! I think this cruise has a place, and I don't believe that seasoned cruisers are their actual target audience, and I arrived at that conclusion in my video about both MSC and Margaritaville at Sea. Yeah, we were disappointed with the food, but I still say that food is subjective to taste, and there were many people who enjoyed the offerings. For the price point, it still may be worth a try. You may end up liking it. Good luck and happy cruising!

We did Seascape last June. Loved the cruise but yes the food was lackluster. Only two included food option areas is just not enough. Although not a popular opinion, we did not care for the pizza at all.

Hello thank you in advance for any answer you can give us on every cruise I have been on when you mentioned about entertainment about the shows being short, there was always every night at least four different bars on the ship on Royal Caribbean Carnival and Norwegian Cruise Lines that had normally a Latin band in one bar the piano player in another bar a guy playing guitar music in another bar are you telling me that MSC did not have nightly entertainment in the bars music till midnight at least? Also what about the Disco wasn't there a disco with a DJ playing music from at least 11 to 3:00 a.m.? Thank you again for all your response that you can give me on this topic

Hi there! If you are a Latin music lover, you are in luck! The music was about 90% Latin all over the ship. From the pool party to the silent party, to just about anytime music was played, it was Latin. There was not a dedicated Latin bar like Boleros on RC. There's a dueling piano show in the area near the shops, but that show is scheduled and took place early in the evening. There was no sing-along type piano bar like Carnival or NCL. The bar in the rear where the karaoke took place had a live Latin band there that played one night until about 9. There was also a free salsa class there as well (that was fun!). In the Loft bar, there was a nightly jazz band that played until about 9 or 10 because the pool party would start up. The cabaret lounge in the rear would turn into a "Latin Night Club" in the evenings, and that was about it. It didn't seem like MSC had a variety of entertainment options going at one time. It was back to back, and it was the same experience. The sports bar played different types of ambient music, but if you wanted a late night snack, you needed to order by 10 pm because the kitchen closed at 11 pm. The sports bar had bar type food like chicken wings and nachos, etc, available for an additional fee.

Trying our first MSC cruise on the Seascape in February. Decided to try the Yacht Club experience so I’m hoping the food and drink is better in the YC than what you showed in your video otherwise I will be disappointed as well. It’ll be our first and last MSC experience all in one. 😂

I haven't tried the Yacht Club personally so I would not be able to rate that experience. However, another comentor did stay in the Yacht Club and verified that the service level over there is top notch! The food was also bad, and cold as well but the service was great.

Not really, especially for the main club areas. Imagine a caribbean cruise with no reggae, calypso, hip-hop or even good old english language music. Detourist didn't like the food. The lack of music variety killed me. We ended up buying a bluetooth speaker and going to lower traffic areas to play music for ourselves. I'll still say that the cruise overall was good for the price and the many places we stopped when I travelled last April/May.

Yes she is right about not being tardy for the formal dining room lol One night I went to meet my fellow travelers to simply say hello I was about 30 minutes late. I didn't want to eat at all I explained to the bouncer lol at the door I finally convinced her to let me go in say hello and leave.

Can I ask what level of experience did you book? Bella, Fantastica or Aurea? And do you think it would have made a difference regarding your review?

To me, the experience level didn't make a difference on this ship, but we were Fantastica. I was also Silver status as well because I did the status level match to my HILTON Honors. I think there may be a difference (in terms of food) if you are in the Yacht Club, but beyond that, you pretty much share all of the other experiences with the other travelers. I still say food is subjective to taste, and if you are curious about MSC, you should give it a try. After all, the price point is reasonable, and the ship is gorgeous, and you may like the food offerings on board! Plenty of people did and do. Thanks for watching, and happy cruising

I expected good food, good entertainment, and good service, and I am using my previous experiences on other cruise lines as the benchmark for my expectations. MSC missed the mark, in MY opinion. This video was MY experience. Obviously, you feel as though the food, entertainment, and service are more than adequate for you. No, I'm sorry, there are no quick bite options available. There is a Mexican restaurant, but you need to make reservations, and there is an additional cost.

How is the food compared to carnival? I've only been on carnival and I've always said their food is simply OK but nothing to write home about. I'm just wondering how much worse than what I consider OK msc is lol

I also think the food on Carnival is ok, like maybe compared to your run of the mill Applebee's or TGIF, nothing fancy or anything to write home about but surely edible. MSC food (in my opinion) isn't good. It's bland, it has no flavor, and the options in the buffet did not change on our 7 night night cruise. The food in the dining room was also bland and served at room temperature (cold) like it had been plated for beforehand and was waiting around to be "ordered." The Tepanyaki restaurant was better, but we couldn't modify the menu for items we preferred rather than the preselected option. The reason is because they didn't take into account that people would possibly want to change or edit a dish, so there was no way for the staff to ring it up. For example, if you wanted fish and chicken but both dishes came as fish and steak or chicken and steak, you had to order both and just toss the steak of you didn't want it. 😑 Since there were no other dining options available, we kinda survived on pizza, and I'm not even sure that was good now. Maybe I was just hungry. I think it's maybe worth a shot for the price point. You may enjoy the food, other people did. Since you've only been on Carnival, the vibe will be considerably more subdued, so be prepared for that, and the entertainment options are also slim. Thanks for watching!

I feel like he didn't do his research haah. He said it was between msc or a Mexican riveria cruise on Princess but price for cruise and to fly much better on msc. He's a party person too which is why I'm not sure he's gonna like it 😂😂😂 This year he did liberty of the seas, but he said next year thr only cruises over Halloween were basically the same iteniary so he didn't wanna do royal again. I think he said the msc was $589pp for a 7 day eastern on the msc seascape, for the DR, PR, nasseau and their island. Or $899 for wifi and drinks package included It made me laugh what you said about food cause the shiplife (another youtuber) said that he asked crew about the bad food and they told him "yea but that's why our drinks package is unlimited" 😂😂😂😂

@@Guyerbassist 🤣🤣 too funny! No, he's not going to like the entertainment at all on MSC - its a sleepy ship for sure! My husband and I paid to upgrade the free drink package to the premium drink package because we like higher end spirits and to our dismay the ONLY bar serving the higher end liquor was the bar in front of the specialty restaurants. We found that bar on our next to last day onboard 😒because there is no reason to be back there unless you are visiting one of the specialty restaurants. So the drink package isn't even a "plus" in this instance. You live and you learn!!🙄😂🤣🤣

The food was ok but choices are limited, no made to order burgers, sandwiches, chicken, and tacos. We ate as often as possible in the MDR not because of the food but because it was quieter and not the unorganized chaos that is the buffet

We got a balcony suite, the room was a little smaller than other balcony suites that we have stayed in on other cruise lines but the room was pretty. No complaints there, we managed. Since we were traveling as a family of five, we needed two rooms, so we would have had to downgrade to a windowless cabin with a different cruise line but MSC had such a great deal (on a "brand-new' ship) we couldn't resist taking the offer.

I would cruise with them again. Overall I believe the service was great I was totally spoiled. But again the entertainment in my opinion sucked and the food I agree could have been much better especially in the dining area.

No, we didn't speak to anyone in the Yacht Club... so I'm not sure if the food was better there. I would like to think so, since they have their own dining room and they pay an up charge for the privilege of those dedicated spaces. Are you booked? Let us know how it goes!

Oh wow, well you'll have your own elevators too! So that shouldn't be too much of an issue as well. We could see into the space a little, lol. The aft elevators that give the views of the adults only pools are not that busy but they dont go to every floor and since we were more front of the ship, we didn't use them much. Enjoy your cruise. It's still a cruise after all! 😊

We just got off the Seascape yesterday and it couldn't have been soon enough. We had a balcony room in the Yacht Club which was wonderful! Every single employee was a pleasure! The only drawback was the food. First of all, yes, YC does have their own dining room but not their own kitchen. The food is the same as what the rest of the ship gets. In fact, it's worse because it has to be transported all the way from the back of the ship to the YC which is in the front. Nothing is cooked in YC. Everything was cold. Everything was disgusting. No imagination. No seasoning. My husband ordered prime rib and it was about a half inch thick, if that. Plus, they doused it in GRAVY! No Au Jus, no horseradish. GRAVY! He also ordered a pork chop that was encased in fat and amounted to about 2 bites. They put CHEESE on top of the chop. Who does that?! We had crappy food like this all week long. I could give several more examples. The lobster was tough, the shrimp was mushy, the filet was really sirloin and very chewy. So to answer your question; No, Yacht Club doesn't have better food but you pay a LOT more for it. Just horrible. Do yourself a favor and book a cruise line with a great reputation for awesome food. It's not this one.

OMG!!! What in the world? You would think that the food would be much better at the higher price point. Thinking along the lines of the specialty dinning restaurant type "good" (using good loosely). Ugh what a bummer and such a shame for such a beautiful vessel, right? This company has the foundation to be a real contender in the space any yet the fumble the ball, sheesh! Again I disagree with this content creators assessment of the buffet. Again we thought the buffet was actually very good. Oftentimes it was crowded I will say that but if you got there a good time...

Even their gelato sucked!!! The gelato at Nassau Cruise Port tasted more like the gelato I used to eat in Sorrento. For an Italian run cruise ship they surely don't know what authentic Italian really taste like. I'll never book with them again unless they change drastically...

Lol, I didn't even have the gelato, and we had upgraded the free drink package to premium, so I believe we could have actually gotten it for free. My husband is firmly against a second go with this company because food is a non-negotiable for him, but I'm still trying to be optimistic, and I will keep an eye out for changes. From all the videos I have seen, MSCs are too crowded and too many kids. Seems like you have to wait for everything. One thing I hate is screaming kids in the hot tubs and pool areas. Rather pay a bit more to have some peace and quiet. Leave it for families on low budget. If you can pay a bit more, Royal Caribbeans cruises are much better.

I agree. The hot tubs are full of kids because the pools are really deep, at least on the Seascape. The jungle pool is over 6 feet deep throughout, and even the adults were clinging to the sides. Which was fine by me and left ample space for me to lap. The hot tubs in that area were always full of kids because the parents could have a better chance at snagging a lounger. There are no complimentary life vests for children, and the only kids' pool is super crowded and not really comfortable for parents who want to keep an eye on their kids. Parents were either inside the small pool with them or standing on the side. Royal or Carnival would certainly be a better choice overall if the budget allows. Not only was the Seaview crowded and lots of children even though we cruised in October, unlike carnival there is no 18+ area that had a pool and bar service. The adult only area was perhaps 10 loungers on the side of the ship, no pool, no hot tub, no bar service.

This cruise line did not cater to African Americans in my or our opinion. The music was mostly Latin and pop or something which I'm cool with but I would also like to hear my music as well.

I love cruising on a line with a little bit of everything for everyone.

Just got off and I have to say compared to American lines it is definitely very lacking. The people logistics and management was incredibly poor. We waited in very long lines to get on and off the ship. After the first experience it made us almost miss our excursion we booked outside of MSC. The food was not great and the buffet was like a fast food restaraunt in the style of decor..There was not enough capacity in the buffet to handle the amount of people it needed to handle. There are no other food offerings.The line to get ice cream was always at least 30 mins long. The european service perspective is seriously just off-putting. On most cruises staff is trained to be extremely welcoming and on my two experiences with MSC the staff were just not friendly. We did like the water park, the thermal spa. The entertainment was OK but nothing major. The other venues that had entertainment were small with the exception of the La Rouge Lounge

Sheesh, that was like a flashback! 😆 Yes, I believe that if MSC is seeking to appeal to the American consumer, they may need to hire some American culture specialist to help them reverse the off-putting experience they currently offer. Europeans prefer a less proactive approach, less interaction, and that is the opposite of the American experience. Americans, by and large, like to be greeted (especially Southerners) so that is weird and considered rude but not to Europeans. If MSC can pull it together, they would have a great product and be a real contender, but as it stands....sheesh! Thanks for watching and contributing to the conversation!

This was OUR experience, and our cruise was last October 2023 (see the posted date for the video). There may have been changes since then. If you are curious about this ship, you should try it for yourself. We did, in spite of the negative reviews. Everyone's tastes are different. Thanks for watching, and happy cruising.

So I got a free msc cruise from a casino about 90 mins from me. You kind of made me not want to go pick it up 😂 Also for entertainment. They didn’t have a magician or comedian?

No, you should go! Give it a try. It's free after all, and it's still a cruise. The ship is beautiful and you may enjoy the food. There are plenty of people who have a good time aboard MSC. It just wasn't for us, and since it's free...if you don't like it, then you haven't spent any money! Go for it! There was not a magician on our sailing, but there was a comedian. He wasn't worth mentioning, lol.

I WENT AS A SOLO CRUISER LAST MONTH ON A 8 DAY CRUISE OUT OF MIAMI IN A BALCONY ROOM.. BEING MY FIRST CRUISE I COULDN'T DREAM OF SAILING IN A WINDOWLESS STATEROOM. BUT NEVERTHELESS EVERYTHING WAS AWFUL, THE FOOD, CREW AND JUST ABOUT EVERYTHING ELSE. OVER A THOUSAND DOLLARS JUST THROWN DOWN THE DRAIN. I AM A RETIRED EDUCATOR AND DON'T HAVE MONEY TO WASTE. I CALLED AND MADE A VERBAL COMPLAINT AFTER RETURNING BUT OF COURSE NO RESPONSE AND IF SEEM TO FALL ON DEAF EARS. THINKING ABOUT EVERYTHING I COULD HAVE DONE WITH THAT MUCH WASTED MONEY, AND TO THINK IT'S BEEN OVER A MONTH AND A HALF AND NO ONE HAS CONTACT ME WHATSOEVER TO ASK WHAT WAS THE PROBLEM.

Customer Service is certainly lacking in my opinion. They didn't send any follow up surveys for passengers to rate their cruise experience. I was actually expecting that because they are trying to push more into the USA marketplace. So you would think feedback would be crucial to fine tuning a great guest experience in helping to create repeat customers. Anyway, we thought we had a deal because we actually spend more on the other cruiselines. We also don't like sailing in interior suites and we always book balconies so MSC was a steal of a deal. Well, we got what we paid for and that was a lesson learned because we chose to ignore all of the countless recent negative reviews about MSC. Sorry your first cruise was a bummer.
