Protozoan infection are common in many aquarium fishes, but they are particularly deadly in bettas. In this video I will show you how to cure protozoan infection such as Epistylis, Chilodonella and Costia, and Tetrahymena. These 3 diseases are very common in wild bettas and manifest itself as white like growth over the skin of the fish. Using formalin, we can quickly beat the disease and cure the fish to health.

I would like to but i can only do it if you are located in the US.
have you tried a dip with potassium permanganate, I use 2mg /L for 5~10 mins. keep a close watch on the fish, this will kill if too strong or the fish is too weak. but it works very well, usually 1 treatment will cure most problems. after you pull the fish and rest it clean water, you can neutralize the dip tank with peroxide.

Hi i have not try potassium permanganate, but you are right just like anything it can kill the fish. Luckily blackwater fishes live in low ph environment so formalin is very stable on that condition so it is my choice.
