Larry wouldn't be this funny if he wasn't old in the show. If Larry was as young as Jerry was in Seinfeld the jokes in Curb would be completely different

Seinfeld is an amazing show, even though to me it's not often a laugh out loud funny show, just that the show definitely kept my interest with good concepts and definitely had enough brilliant and funny parts over the years. Also, credit is due for the stand up on Seinfeld, which when put together is probably 2-3 hours of material. Curb is funnier more often. LD is truly a comedic genius. In large part Curb is funnier because they can swear and that always makes it easier to be funny.

It took Larry and jerry years of trial and error before they got the concept of Seinfeld right (I believe it was the Contest episode that jump started it). But with CYE, Larry was at his top right from the start. Plus with HBO you don’t have to worry about censorship as much so they be more risqué

i think, in large part, its due to where the shows were broadcast... NBC for mass audiences, you cant really take many risks, but on HBO, anything goes
