It's been awhile since my last upload, but new tech was discovered on Chef Saltbaker by Myekul (aka Sichael Momebody) that allows you to end the fight before the final phase using a new glitch known as Chargimate Jutsu!
To give a brief summary of how this glitch works, we do a very precise amount of damage in the first phase, followed by a specific amount of overdamage on an invisible lingering hitbox that remains on screen for about half a second during the phase 1 to phase 2 transition. This overdamage allows us to kill two additional saltshakers in second phase (provided we finish them off within a few frames of each other) and that additional damage is enough to knock Saltbaker's health low enough to the point where he would normally transition to final phase. However, since the transition to 3rd phase hasn't been played out yet it causes the fight to glitch and remain in the 3rd phase until the end of the fight.
This new tech allows us to finish this fight in under a minute now. The best time as of when this video was recorded is a 00:57, but it seems likely that a 00:56 or better is still possible.
I've hit this trick many times already within only 1-2 hours worth of practice, so it definitely seems like a trick that is consistent enough to eventually be implemented into full game runs! What an exciting development for Cuphead speedrunning!
