Top 3 Traumatic/Scary Childhood moments: 3 - Tie for advertisements for Hellraiser (one of 'em) and Lawnmower Man. Too freaky deeky for my child self. 2 - A much more abstract one. When I was 13 or 14, up late watching Saturday Night Live and WWF Jakked, I walked around my house in the dark. I lived out in the country, so there weren't street lights, but maybe the moon was full because there was a lot of ambient light. I remember standing at the top of my stairwell, looking down at the dimly lit base and feeling...haunted. There wasn't anything particularly scary that happened, but I can still vividly remember being a bit unsettled. 1 - When I was very young we had a bonfire out back (actually in an old gravel pit on the property). That night I had a very scary dream that we were sitting around the fire and my aunts and uncles became monsters. Probably the only real spooky "nightmare" I've had that I can remember.
