Dark City, Dead Man is still the most amazing ending of a metal song ever, but Cygnus gives it a run for it's money.
Two and a half year passed and about a few hundred records later, this is still the pinnacle of music in my eyes. Best collab of all time and among my fav records of all time. Cygnus is beyond words.

And she'll be standing strong, her hair is lost in the storm... *goosebumps*
- How many times have you shed a tear during the last few minutes? - Yes.
I've heard plenty of amazing records since Mariner was released and I still can't find something to ever top this masterpiece. Damn what a collaboration.
One of my favourite songs of all time - what a riff, that, and that sing-song outro! Absolutely beautiful.
Nothing will ever be more metal than a black hole. This song is just too good.
This song has proven to be time and time again one of the most inspirational songs I know of. The perfect soundtrack for photo editing with headphones on 11.

The drummer(s) really needs some praise for this song. The way it supports the music and builds tension in this song truly is impressive.

The raw fucking power Miss Christmas puts into those lines is incredible.
8:47 this is simply a boost of adrenaline, after being dragged by minutes of suspense.
Lyrics with repeats and sing-scream part: Can you see what's following you It has a mind of its own Steps so quiet you can't hear it A parasite without a home It's got a smile but you don't trust it Concrete reasons unknown Put it behind you in the space of your day A parasite without a home Can you see what's following you It has a mind of its own Steps so quiet you can't hear it A parasite without a home Leave her to sing her withered songs In tunnels painted like the dawn Bring me the echo 'til it's gone Nothing escapes this hold Desperate against the cold Its flesh made out of stardust Iron oxide into rust To write a letter to the night This songless, sightless, silent giant This feeble plea A speck of dust A drop of sea It's locked in you and me Rip it out and feel its heat Forget the way things seem to be Meaningless to the one and only Leave her to sing her withered songs In tunnels painted like the dawn Bring me the echo 'til it's gone Nothing escapes this hold Desperate against the cold Its flesh made out of stardust Iron oxide into rust It's got a smile but you don't trust it Concrete reasons unknown Put it behind you in the space of your day A parasite without a home And she'll be standing strong Her hair is lost in storm Open your mouth, let air rush in To get a sense of her form And she'll be standing strong Her hair is lost in storm Open your mouth, let air rush in To get a sense of her form She'll be standing while you suffer Her hair is lost in the storm Open your mouth, let air rush in To get a sense of her form But if the audience is imminent And if your parasites come home Remember the old adage Deep roots are not reached by frost Leave her to her withered song Tunnels painted like the dawn Write your letter to the night Sightless, songless, silent giant Leave her to her withered song Tunnels painted like the dawn Write your letter to the night Sightless, songless, silent giant Leave her to her withered song Tunnels painted like the dawn Write your letter to the night Sightless, songless, silent giant Leave her to her withered song Tunnels painted like the dawn Write your letter to the night Sightless, songless, silent giant Leave her to her withered song Tunnels painted like the dawn Write your letter to the night Sightless, songless, silent giant Leave her to her withered song Tunnels painted like the dawn Write your letter to the night Sightless, songless, silent giant Leave her to her withered song Tunnels painted like the dawn Write your letter to the night Sightless, songless, silent giant Leave her to her withered song Tunnels painted like the dawn Write your letter to the night Sightless, songless, silent giant Leave her to her withered song Tunnels painted like the dawn Write your letter to the night Sightless, songless, silent giant Leave her to her withered song Tunnels painted like the dawn Write your letter to the night Sightless, songless, silent giant Leave her Leave her to her withered song Withered song Tunnels painted like the dawn Write your letter to the night Write your Sightless, songless, silent giant Sightless, songless, silent giant Leave her to her withered song Withered song Tunnels painted like the dawn Write your letter to the night Write your Sightless, songless, silent giant Sightless, songless, silent giant Leave her to her withered song Withered song Tunnels painted like the dawn Write your letter to the night Write your Sightless, songless, silent giant Silent giant Leave her to her withered song Withered song Tunnels painted like the dawn Write your letter to the night Write your Sightless, songless, silent giant Silent giant Leave her to her withered song Leave her to her withered song Tunnels painted like the dawn Tunnels painted like the dawn Write your letter to the night Write your letter to the night Sightless, songless, silent giant Sightless, songless, silent giant Leave her to her withered song Leave her to her withered song Tunnels painted like the dawn Tunnels painted like the dawn Write your letter to the night Write your letter to the night Sightless, songless, silent giant Sightless, songless, silent giant

Holy Crap! 3 years later this song is still blowing my mind. Revisiting after a while though
Pop industry: You should make a 3 min song. Post Metal: Or, we could make a 5 min repeating yet building and emotional outro?
This album is like Kingdom, Vertikal and Highway all rolled into one with some epic female vocals which is something new and amazing. Just when you think this band couldn't possibly cover any more ground..

Such a perfect songs, words just fall short as a way to describe how beautiful it is.

This band changed my life, it has made me appreciate life and respect death, think more deeply about our planet and what mysteries lies across the solar system. We don't have much time. I am growing older yet wiser, although, this music and others will transcend and endure. It will never truly vanish. Thank you, Cult of Luna.

I LOVE THIS SONG.
Six months ago, I was in a dark place. I was using Amenra as the soundtrack to my divorce. Now, the opposite is happening. I'm coming together with someone new, and we are using this song on repeat, as a soundtrack for never leaving the house. ....we both bust out laughing tho when the Dario Argento keyboards start up at the end, is there a mix without keyboards? ..........laughing survivor of the dark. peas.

I love that Twinkle Twinkle Little Star rendition at the end 😭 and I love this is about space. It makes me think of my Space Dragon goddess, and the unending pain she will go through as carrier/mother of the universe. What’s Julie singing at 12:16 onwards? Jesse Lapham I agree, at least that it doesn't work with CoL. I'm actually dumfounded that this album was so well recieved. It seems to me that it flies in the face of all the advancements the band made to be unique. The instruments weren't really all that special either
