@FrankValchiria look up Lola beltran's friend also amazing since you mentioned female thick voices Lucha Villa her voice is even thicker than Lola's she can't hit the same high notes like Lola tho but non the less Lucha had her signature voice any one that loves mariachi music recognizes Lucha villa's voice unmistakable voice those 2 we're best friends done quite a few colaborations together check her out also.

My mind goes back to seeing through an 8 yr old 1st generation Mexican American daughter driving in an van in Mexico with my Dad back in the mid 80s. How he loved this song. Still got my daddy 76 yr strong ...They don’t make them like him.....

Maybe you could check out Gino Vanelli. I think he is really underappreciated, but those of us who enjoy his voice and music know how great he truly is. No one easily comes to mind who had a sound and musical style like Gino. He has a Jazzy, Pop, R&B and almost operatic musical style. I think you may find him quite interesting.

Frank, this is not a version of Paloma Negra, this is THE version. The one you saw in Hable con Ella was by Caetano Velozo. He did it many, many years later.

This is a very old folk song, almost every Mexican singer has sang it and has their version. You can sing it brother, I know Italian and Spanish is 80% similar. I've had conversations with Italians in Spanish and they didn't know any other languages but Italian and we understood each other perfectly. I love Italian language.

En la version completa se cuenta que le lloraba tanto y dejo de comer y solo bebbia hasta que se murió y después de muerto, una paloma seguia llendo a la casa a cantar y a esperar si regresaba la mujer que lo habia abandonado por eso dice que esa paloma es su alma. Muy intensa la letra.
