That’s sad. I do know when I was a child I had a good time with my mother cooking and making crafts. She was a Girl Scout leader and a Boy Scout leader. She loved doing all of those things. I remember her showing me how to bake and cook several things and I assumed all mothers did those things. I didn’t learn 7 til I was older that there were moms that were not good moms. It made me appreciate her even more. My dad was a scary grouch and I assumed most dads were that way too and didn’t realize that their were nice dads until I started going to friends houses. I was so glad that my mother seemed to make up for where my dad was lacking. I feel sad for kids that have mean or bad mothers or dads. It’s just so important to be good to our kids and teach them to cook. Blessings to you.

This video is bringing back memories as well as showing me step by step. She lived with me so I only cooked what she didn’t know how, which was things like lasagna etc. She was the soul food queen. I had it made. She was an amazing cook. I miss her and her cooking so much😢

Using cast iron is THE BOMB!!! I’m 70 years young & grew up in Texas where my grandmother taught me to ALWAYS use cast iron... She said to use either a stainless slotted spoon or a metal whisk when cooking in cast iron because the benefits of iron being infused into the food is a healthy way to make sure our bodies absorb “iron” naturally... I cannot wait to prepare this recipe. Gonna serve it with mashed potatoes & collards & fried squash!!! 💐♥️👠🌹🍄💋🍏

My mom made what she called Swiss steak. Instead of brown gravy, she added tomato sauce and/or a can of whole peeled tomatoes. It was very good. The cube steaks were done the same as these. I have cube steaks in the freezer and will be making this recipe for cube steaks and brown gravy soon. Can't wait to try this recipe. We made white gravy (used milk instead of water) and called it country fried steak and it was delicious too.
