Dude I've been composing all kinds of genres of music since 1989 and Cubase for 15 years and you just slapped me in the face with knowledge that I have been too stubborn to learn myself. Fkn great video brother. I am watching all of what you have. I have been making killer sample sets for years and I've been doing it the old outdated crabby bastard way not even realizing the extra power of Groove Agent. I have Cubase 13 and have been opening it in the cubase sampler track and still doing things the hard way. Thank you for this video man.

I have had issues with saving individual samples that I have taken the time to edit, exporting them from Groove Agent and then when I open them up again later, it always has the freaking microscopic click at the end of the sample create by the very micro beginning of the next slice even though I thought I ALREADY edited out of it using the fade out. I don't want to adjust the fade IN because I want the entire attack of the sample intact. I'm sure there is something simple stupid that I am not doing that I need to select. Basically my work flow is using cubase sample track, create slices in that,then exporting to Groove agent with the sections already distributed to every pad, but instead of just that single slice that I want on the pad, it has the ENTIRE long sample I took the slices from with just that section highlighted as being the sample on the pad. How the heck do I just easily export the SLICE only to the pad direct from exporting from sampler track. Did I explain that like the idiot I am when it comes to explaining tech issues (im just a composer man, not a tech wizard haha)

Did you know that you can also use the patterns in Groove Agent as a realtime MIDI player? I use it to trigger entire midi events (record midi event in arrange, then dragdrop this to a pad, trigger this pads with another vsti...) creative fun.

GA5 is so great really. Mixing those 4kits together but controlling repeats and the pace separately is gold.

@@g.o.9513there is a UK guy who does a video on this one, ill see if I can find it, but really it’s just drag a whole part/song (better is to do the 4-6 parts of a song separately, verse, chorus etc) onto a pad, say D2, then click hold pad and drag it into an empty space in the arranger. This has basically made a sampler track for you where D2 triggers that whole song. The other and more complex but much better is same process to begin with, but after you’ve dragged in the audio, go to the pattern editor in GA and put unique notes (the pitch doesn’t matter) that snap the length you want, just do 8 notes at 1/4 long from C3 to G#3. And then drag the pad back into empty space. Now when you play one of those notes, it will trigger the sample for the length of time you specified. Know what I’m saying?

@@g.o.9513oh the mixing of the four kits, yeah unfortunately I haven’t seen anyone demonstrating this apart from myself and I probably wouldn’t post videos about it, could potentially just make a quick private one for you I suppose

In the media library you can click the bottom section where a sample is and it has an auto adjust to tempo feature. So itll match the tempo of the track before you even add it to the project.

How to set a snare sample to the beginning in the sampler editor, because the sample is in the middle of the sampler editor?

,,,is there a granular synthesis in sampler track? or just padshop can do that?? regards

Unfortunately, Cubase sampler track doesn’t have the granular synthesis mate.

Great, but regarding slices is it possible to make them in live mode like you would do in a groovebox such as an MPC?

There are two ways: Set all 16 of your pads as the scissor tool (keyboard shortcut 3) select that track, press play/record and hit the pads when you want. This will both record the trigger your playing and split the sample at the same time. Or Drag whole sample onto one pad, go to pattern editor, and where most people would draw in notes here with the pencil tool you can actually record a pattern like you would on Maschine or MPC, but its not the default method I suppose. The easiest by far is to use the slice feature, which will also automatically colour and name the different hits. If it makes to many just get rid of the ones you don’t want

I wanted to buy a DAW for audio post-production for films, and I bought Cubase 13 Pro. I was not aware of Nuendo, which is designed for post-production. Am I out of luck now? Can't afford the upgrade now. Any advice??

You can still use Cubase for post-production. However Nuendo has more features than Cubase that’s specifically focused on audio post production for film. You can upgrade later when there is a sale for Nuendo mate.

I have been watching your cubase vs studio one series . Its well done ! I would like you to try MACRO toolbar with serious approach . Its the main thing I feel cubase lacks now . Because cubase has the macro but You need key shortcut to trigger it . But s1 has toolbar so no need to assign . Just use toolbar . also I would like to make a comparison video of Project Logical Editor in cubase . Is there equivalent to that in studio one ? also another big thing is not there in cubase that is when you create macros you can add arguments in s1 . EX, when you want to create macro to load kontakt instrument then create new midi track then you can choose VST in advance , no need to select instrument in add track dialog , so in short you cant create macros to load specific plugin in cubase .. which is essential thing to workflow . also Studio one has new Track Tags function which is Game changer . so you dont need to add all the names in the track name to find it later . you can add tags which will be hidden but you can search with that and filter . I can go on and on .. but one thing lacks in s1 is UI . Its not crispy and not the best looking fonts , Pixels are not high enough to see the small text .

don´t think so. I HATE too much mouse clicking and too much ddrag drop stuff - these tiny macro toolbar buttons and it´s drop folders in S1 are stupid for a good fast pro workflow, if you use often many of them! So I prefer Cubase´s macros (I have hundreds of this) and the wonderful unique project logical editor. I´m so fast with this, nothing beats it. mouse clicking in small toolbox buttons are not a real winner. And no, S1 has nothing comparable in case of PLE unfortunately.

And I have my own miny media bay for this... very fast workflow. One click and: done. Same handling for a bunch of multiple Kontakt instances with several sounds in it.

Whilst there is no macro tool bar as such you can have a floating panel or a dummy remote which you can leave on screen and press with the mouse

Nice Tipps...so at least a few good ones...but what about sampling ??? Manipulating Audiofiles means "Audio Editing" or "Sample Editing". SAMPLING is recording an instrument, noices and voices... ...what you did in this video is only the editing of a sample...far away from your title... ...don´t get Me wrong. You have a lot of good tipps for beginners and semi-pro users of Cubase...but Masterclass ? Sorry, no. i.e. "Sampling Masterclass" would stand for sampling an analog synth or a real piano into Halion 7 with 4 velocity settings per note.
