    Aside from the fact that the guy doesn’t know how to strip strike and cast, the worst part of this video is his insistence on taking tarpon out of the water. So much for his conservation ethic. Get in the water for the photo to ensure future generations will enjoy those fish.

    Nice video! I went to Cuba, Isla De La Juventud in march, and had a great time to. I like the line bucket you use. My flyline often fell of the skiff or got stuck on things in it. I'm thinking of buying a stripping mat but the bucket you use looks very good to. What is your opinion about the bucket ? I am going to Isla De La Juventud again in march 2015 to fish for 12 days, and I really need something to prevent my flyline getting messed up all the time.

    That guide has patients, lifting the rod on the set and not setting hard enough, but it’s all in the learning curve I

    mal pescador, la caña no esta absorviendo los movimientos del pez si la mantiene paralela al agua, debe mantenerlatenerla vertical

    fariasda2005 buenas caballero. Muchas pescadores que bienen al caribe por un pez en especifico es su primera vez pescando en agua salada la mayoria de ellos pescan en rios. Mas bien le corresponde al guia explicar todo referente a ese pez en pariticular para eso pagan mucha plata. Si te fijas, el chico engancho varios pero subio al bote pocos. La razon es que contrario a nuestra logica y tomando como referencia la experiencia basandonos en prueva y error. Los sabalos son peces saltadores y tienen las paredes internas de la boca muy duras, sabiendo eso la punta de la boladora o caña debe estar siempre abajo digamos entre 10 y 40 cm sin tocar el agua. El pez cuando esta enganchado va a saltar y cabecear para liberarse y si se tiene la caña con la punta arriba la linea va a quedar olgada o floja y es ahi donde se desenganchan. Para evitar eso se pone la punta abajo y cuando saltan la linea siempre mantiene tensa y se tiene mas control de la linea para "pelear el pez" . Como vez cada especie, digase palometa, bonefish, robalo o sabalo es diferente en cuanto a la forma de pescarlos. saludos.
