CSI ETABS - 25 How to open or import ETABS file into different versions of ETABS
In this lecture, How to open ETABS file into different versions of ETABS is discussed.
(Opening ETABS V16 models in lower versions or higher versions)
Models created in v16, can be opened in lower versions such as v15 or v13, (v9 or below are not possible) by exporting the file as a e2k file, via File--) export, then open this file in a word processor such as notepad and change the ETABS program label and version number on the fourth line of the text file to the one you want to use.For example from v16 to v15 this will be:
PROGRAM "ETABS 2016" VERSION "16.X.X"
No open other version ETABS, Change to:
PROGRAM "ETABS 2015" VERSION "15.0.0"
Then you can save this file and open in the lower version via File - )import -- ) e2k file. Please notice all new features will not be compatible with lower versions

cant import assigned loads....
Dear sir, I got from client etap model created in etap 16.2 version although i have etap software with 16.0 version.... so i couldn't open the file...is there anyway to open the model..

Yes. It is possible.... Open ETABSv2016. 0 Then go to file .... Import E2k file... Give the path where... Your model is present.... Select it and import.
Sir please upload the videos on stairs design and spiral stairs design.

Hi sir thank you for your video tutorial. It was indeed most required operation in etabs for sharing the file between different versions. Can you please tell me, is it possible to create a .mdb file, in 2018 version of etabs. I can't able to get it done successfully.

@@civilmdc yes. In 2018 version, the .mbd file is not getting generated properly. Access file in created but not the. Mbd.

@@manuswarup9674 Export ETABS DATABASE TABLES to access file..... i have checked it is working and generating the data tables in Microsoft access (.mdb) formate......) If you are facing issue.... just right click and select the remove the sharing .... option..
