Headed out onto the track extremely daunted being in the middle of such a large 61 car grid including the Tin Tops (my entry) Turbo Tin Tops, Puma Cup cars and the RX8's.
Thankfully no incidents early on and we all got on with it. Throughout the race I gained more knowledge and confidence and continued to reduce my lap times and worked my way up through several places with some good battles along the way.
Unfortunately, I appear to of got a bit carried away in the first stint and came in a lap later than planned for the mandatory pit stop and managed to miss the 15 minute window which gained me a nice penalty, dropping me to P22 overall but held my P2 in class position.
Thoroughly enjoyed the race and am looking forward to the next opportunity I get to drive this track again as there is a lot of improvement still to to be made.
Had a great day racing with the Classic sports car club and look forward to racing with them again as soon as I can.
