I'm a long time investor in CS and of course watch anomaly, and sometimes he even bores me in his videos with his explanations about the market, skins, the scene etc - meaning that he's doing a very good job with teaching those who doesn't really know or understand the market :)

I think the most relevant point that made the skins crash when cs2 came out was because there was a lot of people buying and holding skins waiting for the “bigger player base” that cs2 would bring and they thought it would make the skins price even higher, doing that they inflated the skins price pre c2 launch, normal people were thinking that the skins were already too expensive and no one wanted to buy for that inflated price, then cs2 launches and the boom in skins price didn’t come and those who had stocked up on skins thinking the price would rise are dumping what they have, even more seeing the market crash they are fearing losing the money invested on the skins

I think it depends on the skins you have invested into as well. My inventory has, in total, increased in value since cs2 launched. However, I can see that some of my skins have definiteley dropped in price. Interessting to see some parts of the market crashing, whereas certain skins hold their value.

also the fact that CS2's float and patterns rendering are different. Like one of the classic low level high-float collectibles were battlescarred AK elite builds and AWP Safari Meshes which now look like they're well worn, my AK47 0.989 used to look like a normal ak with black furniture, now it has massive black spots all over the body, losing like at least 1€ in value. I know it sounds like not much but imagine something like the value of no-scratch hot rods, if the float changes work both ways (they seem to) now there will be a lot more of them, probably mostly losing any overpay value that's in the tens of thousands of dollars

many EXPENSIVE skins go down and many underrated skins go up. simpel as that. usp purple ddpat went high as fuck, same with glock brass. my friend opened classic blue steel. it was for 170$ weeks before csgo died, now its for 300$

that whole "value loss" makes absolut sense. i dont play CS anymore but love every video you puz out. and i havent played since 2019, but i already knoe 3 people, that bought skins in CSGO, just so they could profit in CS2. they tried to profit of an ingame item, that just experianced a visual upgrade. thats the dumbest investment after dogecoin. and i called all 3 of them "mentally unwell", which is a comment i dont like to make, because im 'bout to make the "room temperature challange" myself 👍

One of the finishes that went up in value that im personally happy i own is the black pearls, and i think thats mainly because theyre in a good state and hasnt recieved as much complaints as rubies and sapphires. Maybe Black Pearls will be meta now lol

The Gamma/Doppler gems look off, you’re right on that. But tbh the phases look like the phases. Everything looks shinier due to lighting and so do they. Perhaps turn up the dark spots a bit more, but they are really nice and more distinguishable amongst the other phases.

this video obviously made me check my inventory to see how much my skins had dropped and I was dreading it, but weirdly for me like 95% of my skins have either stayed at the same price or gone up in value....wtf

There is a fairly reasonable claim for this. People who thought everything will rise didn't think about that the influx of high end demand will likely not come along immediately (I for one believe it will still materialize over time). You wouldn't have bought a DL when you started playing, mainly because you connect jack s* with the game. Though you would likely tend to buy a few budget skins here and there or open a couple of cases, instead.

Yea, cause high value skins dropped since all the skins overall look much better. This guy is just shilling you his codes and farming you for interactions, views, etc. Fact is, this guy isnt in reality because he has tens of thousands, if not hundreds of thousands, of dollars invested in very high value skins. Of course he's going to have a negative outlook. He thinks 10% drop in his skins is a "crash" when over the last 6 months, all skins have pretty much doubled and tripled. High value is dropping and low value is rising.

My huntsman doppler phase 2 is completely pink now and it caused the price to go up. I'm sure not everyone knows about it yet but I absolutely love it. The price is still rising as people find out about it being 100% pink now.

Something logical I found was that investors buying high-end skins to resell really chose the wrong tier of things to invest in. New players aren't dropping hundreds to thousands of dollars on a game they are just starting. That's why high-end skins are going down. It's also why the lower tier skins, say things from the $5, $10, maybe all the way up to $50, are remaining stable, aren't dropping NEARLY as hard, or are even going up a bit.. These new players are grabbing a few cool skins for around $40 and are chilling. They don't need/want/have the money for Dragon Lores, FN Vice Gloves and gem knives.

have we ever gotten an ANomaly shoe collection video? I'd love to see it tbh I remember seeing some wicked cool purple like galaxy looking shoe in a video one time and I wanted to find it online and I never could I dont remember what video it was ah well dope collection mr anomaly been watching you since 2015

I suspect we are going to see much more content thanks to how the new engine helps with development.

There are certain skins in the market that can't be printed anymore, such as dlores, medusa or operation skins, etc.

as someone that has a job in the economy workfield I think it's hilarious watching the skin prices. It was foreseeable because everyone and their mother thought they'd be smarter than everyone else by buying into CS skins. And now a lot of these "investors" lose even more money by panic selling. (They literally bought high and sold low because they're either impatient or have no clue what they're doing) But I won't complain, I got some pretty good deals because of this

What concerns me aswell is that csgo had a lot of players cause everyone with a potato pc could run it, now many of them just can’t. It will reduce the player base ( and so the demand in skins) if cs2 doesn’t succeed in bringing brand new players

Ive noticed a lot of lower tier skins like ones between $10-50 have gone up in price a bit even while the top tier skins have dropped

Well market prices goes up now and what a suprise but some of battle scared knifes are almsot same prices as factory new and even some of them looks better than them with all of that new looks. I really liked those with case hardened ones.

The weekly care package gave me a free weapon case which I sold immediately for a nice profit, so I’m digging it so far lol!

If we use steam charts to try and guess what happened, approx 300.000 people lost the access or they lost the will to play CS2 (because of fps drop, stutters, missing maps, mods etc..) peak for CS:GO was about 1.5mil while after CS2 release its about 1.2 mil so 300k people are missing from the game

Remember when karambit fade was $500, that was a good time.. I sold my deagle blaze for $50 back in those days.

bro am the mapper from ALDI2k , u know taht it takes time to rebuild the maps in the new engine (specialy costum maps). the new editor is complete new for mappers coming from source 1. it will take moths to port a good portion of the old maps to the new engine. some people have to work and doing mapping in there spere free time (like me). best regard wammbo

Imo the fact that for many ppl the game is pretty unplayable now is definitely a contributing factor. For me the only map that seems to run smoothly is mirage and I'm playing on low settings with AA off just to get 120 fps on my 3050 laptop, but the game looks waay worse this way, gun handling feels off, and I get a framedrop every time I see an opponent so it's pretty garbage compared to the stable 200+ fps in csgo with the highest settings.

Crashed so much that normal skins are more expensive now wow. My inventory is grew a lot over last few months including cs2 launch. I guess some specific float skins went down but that was obvious for everyone

I own a min wear whiteout usp and over the course of cs2 release it’s changed by means of looks almost every time I open the game

Thing I dislike about CS2 is that Since I live in Belgium where cases are banned I can no longer receive boxes in weekly care packages. Now I can't open them so it shouldn't be too annoying but I could have still sold them on the community market since cases sell for way more than the skins that you normally get dropped.
