I was in love with her cousin Patty (Ramey) Loveless.

She has a beautiful voice, a beautiful face and beautiful hair.

I always have been fascinated by her hair, as well as her voice and eyes and face, and so much kindness! I met her more than ten times, every rear after Las Vegas concerts, and when she had tours in Europe past years. Her hair has been just after down to her feet, for years till now. Very thin at ends below knees for a couple of years, I think she had cut part of it keeping anyway the final length, probably to reduce the weight.

Knoxville born and raised...this song makes me smile and I love it...my daughters have already learned this song one is 12 and the other is 2!

Liked the way she introduced the musicians.

I met Crystal in Houston when she was performing a few years ago. she came out of her hotel room and I asked if I could touch her hair and she said yes. She is the sweetest lady in Country music I have ever met. I love her and her music.

I would like to touch that gorgeous hair of Crystal too....

yes,it was a lucky vacation time when i was younger.It has been a good number of years since the last time i was able to see her in concert.I have met her a number of times in the last 25 or so years just to say hi and take a picture.The only picture i have close up with me and her in it was the first time i met her at Opryland around Nashville over 20 years ago.

An interesting thing: Very few of the people on the stage are sporting styles usually associated with the 80s. I'm only reminded it's 1982 when I look at the audience!

The Osborne Brothers, the bluegrass band who had the original hit with this song, were on a television special with Crystal. They weren’t allowed to do the song because Crystal wanted to do it. May have been this show. Sonny Osborne wasn’t happy.

I think it is live on CD of the "an evening with Crystal Gayle" DVD concert, in the double CD/DVD edition which Gayle Enterprise used to sell. I guess this is now a a collector, being sold out. I fortunately own one copy of it!

@Bradat26 Got it as Videotape years ago for the first time, bought a second not to risk to lose it if damaged, and then a few years ago found it as DVD. The DVD contains a longer medly in the middle ...

because she loves it that way! and grew it even longer, to the floor in the following years and kept it this long till nowadays.

I love her hair, but saw her recently & it's dyed too dark. It looks black. She should have let the gray grow, like Emmy Lou Harris. She would look so much better with her natural gray.

it is jet black for years now! this is video from 1982! She says in an other video interview, she would like it black, totally black, and this is what she did after she was rescued from tubal pregnancy at Nashville airport welcoming her husband coming back. After all it is the best the way she likes it the most. I like it black as as much, despite I loved the original black color. Just to add that going grey in such length is not easy, Emmy Lou Harris did cut hers.

She sounds better than the Osborn brothers who did the song originally. They had too much twang.

She never had the vocal strength to pull this off and it isn't good here. I get what you mean if you aren't into the twang. Search out Dolly Parton doing it. Her's is the best I've ever heard.

You obviously have never seen Crystal live through the years to truly hear her amazing voice in person. Years ago her voice would and could sustain perfect pitched notes for a long long time. I saw her hold the last note well beyond most female singers with more power and control not only on Rocky Top but other favorite songs as well. It doesn't appear you actually know much about Crystals vocal ability in her prime. What you saw in this video wasn't even close to what I witnessed in person.
