Cry Plays: Rule of Rose [P1]
Ойындар
Rule of Rose.
It's that time again.
New playthrough time.
What a good time it is.
Rule of Rose is a Playstation 2 survival horror game based around one simple concept: Little kids, without proper upbringing, can be little fuckturds.
Sounds like a good game to play for those who would like to experience how important it is to be a good parent. Pencils n' papers class!
I expect good things.
Also dog.

Best response to a video game intro ever. "Well...this is going to be...different..."
It's like someone took Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children, stirred a 1/16th cup of Outlast, and told Lemony Snicket to bake up the writing. I like this.

I'm a pretty new Cry adopter, I started with Unravel. Recently I've been binging his Final Fantasy 15 live streams. Decided to see what kind of videos he did, so I looked at his log. Found a few games that I had always wanted to play but didn't, and decided to watch them. Just finished Clock Tower 3, now onto this.
He may have done awful things, but that doesn’t mean that I can’t go back to his old videos, just like old vanossgaming videos that have Mini Ladd in them, just because he did awful things doesn’t I don’t have to get a good laugh out of the old videos before the horrible events, plus 2020’s shit anyways, so shitty things happened.

Glad to finally find a good playthrough of this game; it got banned here in the UK and imported copies are super expensive as a result. That smooth Cry commentary is an added bonus.

@Blacknight8850

+DoodleDomination A bunch of people in the UK press and the European Parliament started making up stories about it revolving around sexually abusing and killing children, and the developers cancelled its UK release BEFORE it could be banned, not after. My mistake. Hence PAL copies being A) Spanish, French etc, and B) £100+ in many cases.

Kids always freaked me out. More than a generic pile of lumpy flesh with randomly implanted teeth. I think, the more human it looks, the scarier it is. Especially kids. Childhood is another world. Once your parents are gone, nothing stands between you, and the sick little band. And they discover new way to inflict pain a humiliation, split between childish curiosity and sadism. Moreover, they're many, you're alone. They intended all of this, together... When you're facing a monster, allright, they'll probably rip your head off and have a feast of your body. But what if you're trapped by those little demons? They are going to take a wealth of imagination to invent games for you to join in. Forever. ... Anyone here is afraid of kids, or kids related creepy things? I mean, like amusement parks? Abandonned schools? Puppets & dolls? Rocking horses? And FREAKIN' MUSIC BOXES!? ( TДT)

HumanGLaDOS23 I like abandoned places, and I do not particularly hate music boxes, but in the right context they become menacing, tense atmosphere and stuff. Maybe because of their deceitful appearance. But I once found a closed down hospital, and I must admit it was fascinating. Broken glass, kids drawings, tags, overgrown vegetation, a ruined elevator, and it was all open, begging for me to get in. The weather was great and the place was surrounded by trees. It even had a weird, peaceful feeling, as if time had stoped just for this place. Maybe like Portal 2, in a similar manner. Thanks for reminding me about this. xD

***** This particular game really wasn't in regards to what you actually do. It's a girl reliving a traumatic moment in her life. I suppose however if you paid attention to the actual story going on in the background and what's implicated it can be considered somewhat controversial. The creepy teacher and his scene with Diana and the whole issue with the "mermaid" and the forced abortion/child sexual abuse etc.
@DaughterofBabaYaga
10 жыл бұрын
Oh good freaking lord - are you kidding me?! I wasn't aware of the ministers accusation I was just considering the content of the game. Hell no! That's absolutely ridiculous! The game is concerning a young woman reliving a traumatic incident in her life, she's dealing with survivor's guilt and she's trying to make sense of what happened all those years ago. And you're right concerning the sexual abuse; it is only implicated at brief moments. What was he hoping to accomplish by such ridiculous outlandish comments about this game? It's a video game - you don't like the content of concept then don't play it but that doesn't give you the right to impede upon the rights of others to either create or play the game.

@Geomancy_
10 жыл бұрын
this isn't explained until later in the game and even than it's fuzzy, but what is really going on is the main character, the older girl, is actually recalling broken memories from her childhood. so while she looks far older than the other children, when the events were really taking place she was actually a little girl, around 10 years old, or maybe even younger. The game just inserts her older self because that's her conscious mind, and that's the form that is viewing the memories. it's also the reason her attacks are so weak, because in reality, she was just a child when fighting the "enemies" in the game.

Niki Nicole it's just how messed up the orphanage was, it was a place of disturbing chaos with a scary adults and scarier children, and their lunacy that this Aristocrat club was an actual thing, and the socialization influenced by the club was severely damaging. it got those kids to do things that were so cruel and disturbing, but it was because of how they weren't taught any better ( i mean, the adults in the place weren't exactly the best role models.), and that they basically had no other choice. in the Aristocrat club, it's fish-eat-fish. basically a monopoly run by children over the unfortunate others.

This game still haunts me. I watched it back in 2013 and I STILL think about it. It scared me 😂
For the first 35 seconds I though their was something wrong with my sound.
Watched Cry's playthrough a while back; coming back for seconds! Because, not only is the game rather strange, but Cry is awesome! ^_^
I’ve gotten kinda sad lately and this is one of the first playthroughs I’ve see from you YEARS ago. You were also the first gamer youtuber I watched. Anyway. Kinda cheesey but videos in the background help with nightmares and this MIGHT be a weird game to watch to get rid of nightmares but your voice soothes it. Haven’t seen a lot of videos lately from you, hope you’re doing swell! 😌👌
i was obsessed with this series when i was younger... am i okay? anyway i’ve returned and i’m going to watch the fuckery that this game is... again. also cry i love you you’re doing amazing sweetie.
I love the aesthetic of this game, I don't know anything similar to it

That was a very enjoyable playthrough, its my first time watching one of your videos cry and bravo, well done. Good narating too.
Watching the entire series then watching the intro is just wow. It all makes senses now!
to all those complaining about jennifer being a push over there is a reason for that just keep watching things get interesting and make sense after a while its actually really good im rewatching it
30:08 is probably a reference to Carl Theodore Dreyer's "Vampyr", which had an almost identical first-person shot of a person looking at the sky through the opening of a coffin.
It's nice coming back and watching the cinematic after having finished watching the playthrough.
You made me track down a PAL version of this for myself 'cause I enjoyed watching you play this so much.
God this game needs to be remastered like improve the graphics change camera view put actual decent combat and done.
anyone else here to enjoy this play through in all its glory?
Thank you for playing this. This is one of the hardest games to find any play-throughs for.
Super late in this. I love this game. It's one of the saddest and scariest games of all time. Thank you for playing it!
Came back for Nostalgia
I just started playing Rule Of Rose! It's so well done for an old horror game 😁 can't wait to see what happens! 💖
Okay I geeked out as soon as he said "Hewie version 2". Cry has played so many of my favorite games, Haunting Ground, this one, Dreamfall...too awesome.
Just spent like an HOUR trying to find this. Watched part of it years ago. Finally get to rewatch it
"And he'd just woof at me Awkwardly." Well cry. Putting a coller on a creepy little boy.. I didn't think you had that sort of kink. Nice going cry. I'll ship you.
I finished watching this series months ago but I loved it so much I couldn't help but come back and re-watch it :)
I'm rewatching this after finishing Cry's playthrough and reading the wiki to finish up any loose ends. It finally makes sense. All of it.
I was like "the fuck?" And cry was like "what the absolute fuck is going on with this game." And I was like "you read my mind!"

agreed....the voice to my thoughts as well.
More than 5 years later and I’m back!
I just found your channel thanks to this game. I love your way of commenting your videos, it sounds so natural and funny. You really should think of facecam it makes videos more alive and it's interesting to see players reactions when they play especially when they're playing horror games. ;)
i saw game art of this and had to come back. i can't believe its been so long. i really miss this era
To actually properly understand this games story I had to watch the whole LP and then this first episode again, but now that I get it this game is really amazing and wow
Are you kidding me? 10 minutes and 28 seconds in and we just got into the gameplay? That's a gaming sin.
Hell ya! I'm back again. To watch one of my favourite play-throughs, as I wait for another, "Night in the Woods" vid. Cry, you are the best. But, I'm still hoping for a Kuon let's play. Maybe someday... Thanks for everything you do
Your voice is very soothing. I was impressed with the narrator when reading the story book and then realised it was you and not the game lol.
This game kinda reminds me of a Guillermo del Toro movie. Digging this
"Died suddenly"seems legit Lol THEY OBVIOUSLY GOT MURDERED
Year's ago i was obsessed with this game and now i'm back watching the entire playthrough.. AGAIN!
Got into my Cry feels and decided to watch some old lets plays. Now I'm sad lmao. 'Bout to binge a lot of lets plays
“I do never want to follow children off of buses….” That’s not English just quite
