I am with you on both BLOW and CRUEL are related. As I see it, when he went inside that elevator he came out in a new AU/dimension in CRUEL hence he descended. I think in BLOW he was talking about someone so addictive that he know she is bad news and in the end he "killed" that person/love before he left then in this new mv he came back to "fight" the same person since it seemed like a forbidden/one-sided love but in different universe...like a multi-verse. MAGIC MAN is his upcoming album out on Sept. 9 - so imagine Magic Man in multi-verse? I do hope I make sense...hahaha

This is the 2nd song from his to be released album "Magicman" (9/9). He mentioned in an interview that this album consists 3 mental stages - fire, water and ice. Obviously Blow and Cruel represent fire, can't wait to hear the other songs. Thanks and please continue reacting to Jackson.

I have much respect for Jackson Wang. Did you know back then when Lisa (Blackpink) was under a lot of heat from haters, Wang made a dance video plus encouraging messages for Lisa to make her feel better? He did. This dude is wholesome.

I was so impressed with this mv/song. His visual directors are brilliant. Period.

Please do 100 Ways next, I think that was Jackson's mv that made people fr all over the world finally took him seriously as an artist.

Jackson and Team Wang continue to make such mind blowing (pun intended!) masterpieces!!! 🤯

I honestly think that this mv is both a prequel and sequel to Blow. When she pushes him into that smoke towards the end looks like the shape of the elevator he ends Blow with. And I think that is how he gets the power to come back at the end. But ultimately, I love how we got a musical style mv with Blow and now more of a movie style with Cruel. This man is a genius and just needs to make a movie for this full album for us to just enjoy his endless creativity and mind blowing concepts

I thought the same. he cleared his head (like DG Reacts said in the reaction to blow) of all the chaos and came back. so far that is what I'm getting after watching both. edit: i forgot to add in blow he said " You play me like an instrument" but in this one he starts off by playing these other girls. its so entwined and detailed. either way I'm absorbed by it all (I'm a new fan of Jackson Wang)

Thanks for the reaction! To me 'Cruel' is actually a story of a stalker: the girl coldly rejected him but he convinces himself that in reality she wants him (got this look in her eyes). And that her coldness (liking it when it' cold) is a pretense, a game she plays with him. So no matter how many time she rejects him he comes back stalking her... But well that's just as you said - my personal interpretation thereof... P.s. his playing the girls like guitars is such a clear reference to 'Blow' with its 'that you play me like an instrument' but he's addicted to it! so totally with you in trying to tie that up with Blow. Thanks again!

I think it’s fucking great that we’re seeing someone emerge pretty fresh out of the K-pop scene bringing a more garage alt-rock sound with a distorted bass line doing the most. Also, the bravery it takes to make such specific creative commentary on mental health and battling your demons (which he talks about in some interviews) is something that makes me happy, because he’s really pulling from a wealth of personal emotional experience and then illustrating it in such a stunning visual way. Well, first I'd like to say I fell in love with everything about the song and the video, Jackson wang has been on fire (literally, right?), and I don't know, but what I felt in this video/lyrics was the way nowadays people play each other's feelings and bodies, sucking energy from one another while thinking they're fighting for the ones they love, I mean, while I cannot have you I'll keep using and sucking others dry. The last girl is maybe the one he really wants but ends up doing the same to him however he doesn't give up and the cycle continues... all the surroundings are maybe this world lacking real feelings, dry and destroyed... anyway... you've inspired me to start analysing the mvs myself and I might be tripping... that's what I felt though. Jackson Wang's aesthetic sense is no joke... I wish his lyrics were a bit less basic, but I still listen happily to his songs ^^ it always sounds strong and catchy at the same time. Lyrics put aside, everything is so powerful (and the MVs are always so good), he puts a lot of passion into his work and it shows. I think he also chooses his coworkers very well (he has this "team sense" that makes all the difference). I think I'm a bit weak too for the darkness lingering in his songs... It contrasts with his bright personality, I get strong vibes from this (I'm a simple being).

He’s literally playing with their emotions like the strings on a guitar. They mean nothing to him, which is why he so easily plays them and disposes of them. Rebounds that simply fill the void until (as he expelled the fire) he feels empty again, so he eventually comes back to the one before. To the toxic love he’s been trying to emulate with all those who don’t matter, but this one does matter, and so he’s vulnerable, allowing her to take control and have the upper hand. And in the end, that toxic love divides them again, but even though he’s gone (into nothing) he ends up coming back because they literally can’t escape each other. That’s what toxic love is. Wanting to escape but never truly being able to free yourself. You can’t escape one another.

I can see how this takes place in the same Universe as Blow, but I personally felt that this concept goes way back to Jackson's first solo videos, specifically , to Bullet to the heart... maybe it was intentional or maybe it's just the aesthetics of his concepts that leave me with this feeling, either way , it's always a pleasure to see his comebacks.

Jackson's been delegating some stuff (finally lol) - he's no longer the CEO of Team Wang design and I think he's letting the marketing department taking more initiatives now... but I doubt he's doing anything like that with his music and overall concept of the album, including the MV. We used to joke the credits roll is filled with his name lol

It's a toxic relationship and his using the girls as rebounds, to fuel himself. Gets what he wants from them and now wants to return to the girl he really wants. She puts up the fight and in return uses him. Yet very surprised when he returns back after being used, in the end. Maybe?
