Had Hardrade won at Stamford Bridge, who knows if Godwinson (also of Norwegian descent, basically) would have remained king for long, and of William could have bested the Norwegians. Basically England in that war was about which norwegian ruler got to call himself king.

@@l0rf from my understanding the Normans were descendants from the swedish or the Danish I haven't read up on them in a while but it's from one of those areas but overall yes they were all Nordic people fighting for a British crown well a German crown technically at the time

But anything from the 10th century is a little hard to track and verify, especially with the geographic knowledge of that time. Could have been Swedish or Norwegian leading a band of Danes, could have been Danish himself.
