I can proudly say that Bujumbura is one of the cities in East Africa to have a lot of developing luxury neighborhoods. I remember that in 2014 Kigobe was the lighthouse district of Bujumbura but today the districts are only growing (Gasekebuye, Camara, Avenue du large, etc ...) My parents have investments in the avenue du large and he plans to build a hotel in Kanyosha

Yes, Bujumbura is expanding for real. Allot of well planned developments going on. Push your parents into building affordable apartment homes, it is a market that'll have high demand in years to come.

@@NotSoBurundian Yes, you're definitely right. Apartments are the way to go. The city is too small and people from the countryside keep flooding it, without even mentioning the fact that at some point the diaspora will return back home. No question about it, we will run out of space soon or later. The smart way to build is therefore upwards and not sideways. Nairobi and Dar es Salaam understood this.

You can definitely get land for that price. For example, a 100square meters in Kanyosha goes for 8mil fbu, in Mirior they say it is now at 25mil fbu, and nyabugete at 14mil fbu. I will have to clarify further if you're really interested.
