In India, the crude oil supply chain begins with the exploration and extraction of crude oil from the earth. This typically involves drilling wells in areas that are thought to contain oil deposits, such as the offshore Bombay High field and onshore fields in the states of Gujarat and Assam.
After the crude oil has been extracted, it is transported to a refinery, where it is processed into various petroleum products, such as gasoline, diesel, and heating oil. There are several major refineries in India, including the Jamnagar Refinery, which is owned by Reliance Industries and is the world's largest refinery.
Once the crude oil has been refined, it is transported to distribution centers, where it is stored until it is needed by consumers. From the distribution centers, the refined products are shipped to retail outlets, such as gas stations, where they are sold to the general public.

Gaurav ji. First of all let me thank you and Yadnya for thinking out of the box. The topics are not only interesting and simple to understand for the common man, but it also demonstrates the level of in-depth analysis that you and your team has put into. I hope you continue to bring out such thought provoking videos for many many years. May I please request you to have something which gives an E2E understanding of the Supply/ Value chain for the Pharma industry. Also looking forward for similar concepts for the new-age sectors (expected to completely change India's growth story over the next few decades) like Semiconductor / Chip manufacturing.

Great perspective of the sector. Keep it up Gaurav. How about a detailed video of the overview of the media and entertainment sector
I feel the video that you made on Natural Gas was well researched and comprehensive. Being a superannuated person from the Oil industry, I reckon you should make the video once again after few days. You mixed up upstream ( ONGC, OIL ) with downstream ones i e Refineries. US is self sufficient and one of the major crude oil producer world wide . They might be importing refined products but certainly they don't need to import crude oil. In fact they released their strategic reserves last year to reduce the high crude oil prices. The unit of production of oil is referred as MM Barrels (i e 1 million barrels) and not M Barrels that you mentioned in video. Natural Gas is byproduct of crude oil sometimes Also there are exclusive Gas wells both offshore and onshore and Natural Gas and other LPG can be can be extracted. Yes, you are right when you say crude oil will continue to find it usage for at least 25 more years. Gases like CNG, PNG and LPG and usage of Gas will continue to find utility for fertilizer and household purposes for many more years. I have been listening to you for past one year and find the videos very useful. Kudos to your team Paimal, yourself, Mandar and Aastha ..You guys are doing tremendous work !!!
Great presentation. Can you make a presentation on how refining margins are calculated and the significance of Singapore Refining margins and how the same can be tracked
Please dissect input cost of oil exploration and refining
