    Great, and very helpful, video Chuck! I'll have to wait for the next time the code comes on to run the diagnostics and figure out what's going on. Sadly if I'm going to drop the fuel tank the repair bill will probably exceed $300 because I'd replace anything else that could go wrong after 194k miles while the tank is down

    Another good vid! I've got the same issue with my '04 that I've been holding off on doing. My C.E.L. only stays off momentarily after cleared, but luckily I don't have emission checks here to deal with, unlike Cali. I have found other info over the years that says it can be cleaned and at times can simply be plugged up causing the failure.

    Awesome video - In my case I am buying a new gas cap from the dealer. If that does not fix the problem I decided after watching your video to put my Vic in the mom & pop shop up the street & let a professional with all the right tools drop the tank. Main reason is I dislike working underneath a vehicle without a lift. But your video is great because it makes me an educated consumer & lessens the chance that I will get taken advantage of.

    @@PanzerPlatform End result: The local shop dropped the gas tank and replaced the sensor as shown in your video. Total cost was $830 plus it took almost 2 weeks to find & get the sensor as none of the Ford dealers in the area had it in stock. $30 of the cost was for a new inspection sticker. It was/is expensive but the shop did a great job & I am happy.

    @@OnlineAutoRepairVideos Right on Timmy, Thanks for stopping by. Not being monetized has been my guiding light since I started this digital landfill know as my KZread channel. It helps me remove bias, so I can just repeat facts. It started out February 2019 as a video diary to document the maintenance & repairs on my two tired cars. Then people started asking me questions about how to fix their Panther Cars. It got out of hand when Amazon Sellers started sending me free LED Headlight Bulbs to make video reviews about when I only had 150 subscribers, and my channel was only 6 months old. My last sponsored review was a $180 Dash Cam from Blackboxmycar. My next sponsored review is for a fuel additive claiming more MPG’s. This is just my fun retirement hobby, and I like getting free products, and doing giveaways to the folks that watch my garbage. I’m not looking forward to the regulations that come with the AdSense Partnership Program. “Girls just wanna have fun”. -Chuck

    @@PanzerPlatform Yeah, we have to talk about this more in a livestream because we see it differently. That extra income, and still being able to keep your morals (like we do) benefits you immensely! There are PLENTY of channels out here making $1000 per day (not us of course, LOL), and that could help you with your expansion! DEFINITELY a topic you, me, and Shaun need to discuss on a live stream!

Check out this video, and leave a comment about your heated seats; kzread.info/dash/bejne/YpqKt9OSqpXPqps.html - 2.) My 2010 Grand Marquis does something similar, but it intervenes from a dead stop with medium throttle application. I would try cleaning the rear wheel speed sensors. Maybe they’re covered in brake dust. - 3.) There are two active recalls for this issue from the NHTSA Here are the recall numbers; NHTSA Campaign Number: 13V385000 NHTSA Campaign Number: 14V704000 They recommend having you car inspected at any local ford dealer. The inspection will be provided at no charge to you. If it’s eligible the repairs will be provided at no charge to you. In the mean time you may want to spray down the upper intermediate steering shaft with you favorite penetrating oil, or lube to see if that improves the tightness, at low speeds. -Chuck

    Hey Chuck, I have a 07 GS with 77 K. Few months back, a rusted fuel tank strap broke causing my tank to drop. Replaced the tank, straps, EVAP lines, and fuel pump. My check engine and fuel cap light have been on ever since and run the PO451 code. Car runs fine. Gas mileage fine. Mechanic who did the work claims nothing appears broken via lines and parts. If I reset the lights, come on next day. My concern is with the check engine light always on, how am I going to tell if something else malfunctions down the road unless I scan it intermittently. Don't want a problem arise in the future that becomes a major issue as I didn't check it early enough as I couldn't tell with the check engine light always on. Catch my drift? Any advice please? Thanks, Joe

  • @PanzerPlatform

    @PanzerPlatform

    2 жыл бұрын

    Right on JO, If you have a code, there's obviously a malfunction. If this issue arose right after the repairs it's possible your mechanic didn't finish the job properly. I would give him another chance to fix it. If he is unwilling, unable, or the diagnosis is above his skill level I would find another shop to fix it, and send the bill to the original mechanic. If he refuses to pay, you may want to contact the auto repair regulatory agency in your state for help, or file a claim in small claims court to recoup the cost. -Chuck

    2007 P71 here. P0451 turns on CEL within 3 days at most after being reset. I do get a quite rough drive both while accelerating and releasing the gas pedal. Eng starts well 100% of the time but after it reaches a certain temperature range (between the two horizontal lines in the lower part of the gauge) it'll often die as soon as I put it into drive.
