Crown Victoria Clunking Front End? - Sway Bar End Links Replacement

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

In this video I will show you how to replace your stabilizer bar end links on your 1992-2002 Ford Crown Vic or Mercury Grand Marquis. This also applies to the Lincoln Town Car. I will list the parts I used below. I also replaced the front brake pads and rotors while I had the wheels off. I highly recommend the Powerstop coated rotors and ceramic pads. This is obviously optional if your brakes are in good condition.

Awesome!! Thanks so much for the clear and succinct video. My 06 has a bad link. When it warms up I'll be replacing it and the brakes too. Couldn't do it without your help.

This is the exact problem I'm having. I raised the hood and with my hands I quickly moved the car up and down and imitated the sound it makes on the road which is like a clank sound. Although when I'm driving it sounds worse since I cant get a lot of force

I have 01 grand Marquis when driving hit a dip in road it is scary. It’s like the passenger side pulls against the driver . Could that be the sway bar bushings?

with cold weather whenever l go over a bump the noise from front end on one side goes klunk and over several bumps its klunk tee klunk klunk. on warmer days not noticeable. would u suspect it to be front end link.??

Most likely yes. The grease gets hard when it's cold, which makes the problem more evident.

@@JackofAllMasterofNone thank u 4 reply. l have a 2004 focus and 2 times l have had to replace the pair. 1st @ 30,000 miles and 2nd @60K bout 2-3 years ago. car has close to 70k miles. going to order a pair in addition to other parts. as parts get hard to get after 20 years of auto.

replaced one side. no clunking going over bumps. great..!!! also l notice that l have less play while driving with steering. l use to have to correct a lot of times on driving. have slight wheel play but not as bad as before. guess l should replace the other side and hope to have almost zero wheel correction on drive. Took 3 hours from start to wheel installation. not bad for a 75 year old man. guess the car will outlive. Great video and thanks

@@carltorjusen558 Excellent. Yes. I would definitely do the other side too. I'm sure it's bad also.

When buying these Crown Vic, Grand Marquis Suspension parts, by greasable ball joints, tie rods etc, they are a better choice and will last much longer. Just grease them everytime you change the engine oil.

Pull it into place. It can help to jack up one side or the other to relieve pressure on the sway bar.

Lower ball joint my man. Get it before you’re front end drops. Dealt with it a month ago with my 96. Structurally the same I believe

probably balljoint. It can get pretty dangerous to drive with a failing ball joint. The suspension can collapse and cause you to crash

could be front shocks, Lower ball joint, or sway bar link. ive dealt with all 3 sadly but she rides just like new after completely refreshing all the suspension with new!
