You clearly haven't been reading the right kind of fiction. May I recommend, Sandman, the comics. (The show's great too but you'll have to wait quite a long while for it to encapsulate the whole story.)

The last 10 minutes of the series hurt so heart… i know Neil's intention is to have the story for season 3, and that will be my hope, but it really hurt. They deserve a happy ending.

It fucking destroyed me. My poor poor boy Crowley. I really try to understand Azi‘s choice, but it hurts so bad, like I can’t stop being mad at him for choosing heaven over his soulmate. Crowley deserved better. Let‘s all hope the third season will repair our broken hearts 💔 Also what I hope for is, we‘ll get an ending where Azi and Crowley live together, perhaps in a small cottage near London with a beautiful garden where of course, it all „began“ and will „end“.

@@kusurot At the end of the season 1, when Aziraphale and Crowley were having breakfast at the Ritz, "the nightingale actually did sing in the Berkeley Square". Like it was a miracle because it's never happened before and symbolises their love for each other, I believe. That's why as Crowley gets in his Bentley, the song "The Nightingales sang in the Berkeley Square" starts to play - a reminder of the time they've spent together and the love they've shared. Crowley turns it off as a sign of the end of their era When Crowley pointed out: "Listen" *silence* "I don't hear anything" "That's the point... no nightingales", he meant there's nothing in Heaven that'd make Aziraphale happy, because there's only white silence and nothing more. He may also mean how lonely he'll feel there

I think he was forgiving him for handling him so roughly and kind of forcibly kissing him, yanking him around to face him and then keeping hold of him which really didn't him a choice whether to participate in the kiss. That must have been really scary for Aziraphale, esp if he had never done that before.

According to Neil, season 3 is supposedly going to come out in September next year :D apparently they left all the sets as they were and as soon as the strike is over plan to resume filming for season 3

This is the best explanation I’ve seen of Crowley’s and Aziraphale’s relationship. I completely understand why us fans were so disappointed (me especially) but hopefully other fans will think about it and see it’s a great representation of their differing values toward Heaven and Hell.

Well said! I know there's a theory that Aziraphale was drugged by the coffee or somehow brainwashed by Metatron (and I can't deny that's possible) but I really hope that's not the case. I would not like that agency to be taken from him. It doesn't need to be - as much as I hate it, Aziraphale's decision makes sense for him at this point, for all the reasons you said. He truly believes he can change heaven for the better, and he does not understand how toxic the 'heaven is good and hell is evil and that's all there is to it' attitude is. And he does not understand what he's asking of Crowley when he asks him to come back and be an angel again. God I hope we get season 3.

I understand Crowley so much more but after a day of processing everything I kind of understand aziraphale. Ofc it hurts to be rejected by someone you love but aziraphale believes he could change heaven for the better. For earth and maybe make a place where Crowley enjoys living in. But they both learned after 6,000 that not having a side and being in the middle is so liberating. But I still agree with Crowley more cause Aziraphale sounded like he didn't like Crowley as a demon. Maybe he didn't mean it like that but it came out that way and it was so sad

Yes, I absolutely understand the appeal of Metatron's offer for Aziraphale, and why he took it. But I will never forgive him for breaking Crowley's heart in the process. Also YES that's exactly what annoyed me so much, I thought he'd come to like and appreciate Crowley as a demon, now he just wants to erase his entire personality and subordinate to heaven again, an institution they've found to be quite hypocritical and not at all as "good" as Aziraphale makes it seem

I think the kiss wasn't just confirmation for the fandom. I strongly believe that the romantic relationship between the two isn't just something that emerged from the fans. The writers knew exactly what they were doing all along, and so did the actors. It's just such an intense twist for Aziraphale to break Crowleys heart. I think it's the perfect ending for this season. And it hurts a lot. Even more so knowing that Aziraphale isn't entirely wrong about his decision. The system governing heaven is broken and he could actually, potentially make a difference. I'm just scared he will be used as just another puppet for God's ducked up plans. I'm starting to get really pissed at the almighty tbh

Aziraphale and crowley being in love was 100% planned from the start, like no doubt. There's like a dozen scenes in season one that pretty blatantly show it. Like when the book shop burns down, and "somebody to love" by Queen plays as crowley walks out

Yeah no I never doubted that they were in love, I just feel like they wrote that kiss as a kind of confirmation. Because the fans would've gone feral without a kiss this season, and it therefore seemed pretty "forced" to me. One thing I liked so much about their relationship is that it didn't need any "obvious romance" like kissing for the audience to know they're in love.

They've known eachother for thousands of years, and it was the first time crowley had ever really opened up to him. By the end of it he was desperate to convince him to stay and didn't know what to do. I think it's meant to feel like this isn't how it was supposed to happen

I don't think I have ever been such a wreck after a long-awaited kiss like I was in that scene. I swear, I was already teary eyed, but when Crowley ran up to him, I knew what was coming and I just LOUDLY sobbed uncontrollably. It was finally there, but so heart-breaking, I cannot. This video is so beautiful in capturing that feeling

Everyone is sobbing over the end, while I'm over here fucking thrilled it was Crowley who kissed Aziraphale, realizing he loved him. IMAGINE, season three, a sad, pinning demon Crowley.

I just finished watching the last episode and at the time I was excited abd angry and now I'm just sad but I can't cry my eyes hurt but I can't cry. I get where aziraphale is coming from but crowley knew better than to work for either of them even if you think you can change it you really can't. I can just see season 3 Crowley either back in his apartment or getting drunk and being upset for good reason too, and aziraphale having a hard time dealing with his new job and missing Crowley. It's going to be hard to get them together but I know they will

@@fabricofdreams. A third season isn't confirmed yet. So we don't know if we will get closure. I always hate it, when producers do something like that without knowing if they actually can continue their cliffhanger. I mean, there already many Netflix shows that have been not renewed and therefore ended without any closure. In my opinion, if you don't know, if you are able to produce more seasons, you should try for an ending, that offers some closure but still leaves some things open for more (that's what Bryan Fuller did with Hannibal and even though the show was cancelled prematurely, it still ends with one of the most satisfying endings I have ever seen on a TV show).

@@sandrakatze2409 But in this modern terrible age of tv making that's not how it works anymore, so do you want good storytelling or not? They don't renew things until the viewing figures come in. So Will we be left hanging by executive too stupid to pour water out of a boot if the instructions were on the heel? Sure sometimes. But the alternative is to have badly written, badly structured, poorly executed shows that sacrifice too much and cram in "the essentials" as fast as possible for fear of not being picked up for another season. I'd much rather they commit to writing the best scripts possible, and filming the best shows possible, telling the stories they want to tell, the way they want to tell them, so that way more people watch them and they're more likely to be picked back up. Plus I have a feeling that much like what he's talked about in his deal with Netflix for Sandman, if Amazon are stupid and don't renew Good Omens for season 3 He'll be able to take it elsewhere and get it made somehow anyway.

@@mayaenglish5424 Having some form of closure at the end of a season doesn't necessarily make the show a bad one. There are many shows that manage to do it quite well. Also, it doesn't mean that everything needs to be resolved after the end of a season. The season itself doesn't have to be a self-contained storyline. But there is a difference between having an open ending (for example ending before Aziraphael makes his decision to go back to heaven or Crowley declines) and an absolutely devastating and sad one. I don't think it wise to end a season (if you don't know for sure if this might be the end of the series) at the worst and most saddest possible moment of the whole story. Having Aziraphael und Crowley split up after basically being together for 6000 years is the biggest emotional catastrophe that the story will ever be able to tell. And yes, making it a cliffhanger if you already know that there is another season, would be a smart decision because it would raise the stakes for following season and leave the audience in anticipation (still sad, but hopeful because everyone would be certain that it will be resolved in the next season). But if the show will not be renewed, it will forever end at the saddest moment possible and thus turn it into a tragedy. I know that there is a conflict between having shows that are cancelled due to low viewership and people not watching new shows because they are afraid that they get cancelled before the have a conclusion. It is a downward spiral. The more shows are cancelled, the less people are willing to start watching an unfinished show which means even more new shows have to be cancelled due to low viewership and so on... But I don't think it has to be up to the audience to change it, but the production companies should focus more on the importance of telling good stories and should discuss with the producers, writers etc.of said shows from the very beginning how many seasons they would need/can pay for and already include all of these seasons in their contract. This way, at least the basic story line would have a chance to be told until the end.

@@sandrakatze2409 Well, we both agree that these companies are doing it wrong at least lol. My point was basically, the story is the story, they shouldn't change it just because the studios are cowardly dicks who don't know how to properly support Art. Personally I'm of the opinion that if you have someone like Neil Gaiman around you should just give him the money to get on with it and leave him alone, but that's just me lol.

Im damn sure that coffee was with a bit of sirprise from this creepy angelic grandpa. Aziraphael couldnt say what he did truly. Almond milk (so as the bit of nutmeg, remember ep 4? This phrase aziraphael keeps saying). Almond can make you feel euphoria and even see hallucinations. So... Im waiting for touching reunion of crowley and aziraphael.

I've never been as destroyed by a show as I was with this. Like utter traumatized. I think is because this story has always been my comfort, funny, silly, ridiculous, cute and romantic show. With the last 15 minutes it became a slap to reality, I feel like most of us have had or witnessed discussions like this. I was not expecting to finish the season in heartbreak but it made so much sense, the show gave us breadcrumbs since season 1 of the issues both Aziraphale and Crowley were dealing as a "team" and individually, I screamed at the TV since the beginning that they lacked communication even when the love was clearly there. In regards of the kiss, I was not one to needed it but not against it either. I do vehemently believe they are asexual, and I know Neil fights for that as well... At this point I'm mostly glad they did it because I was done with people accusing the show of queerbating

I just finished watching the season 2 finale. A friend of mine who I swear runs into every spoiler possible is still finishing up the series. She told me earlier today that she saw a spoiler of Aziraphale dying (obviously fake or misunderstood) and I went into the last few episodes fully expecting Aziraphale to get erased, but what actually happened felt so much worse somehow.

This is heartbreaking!

Lets not forget Crowley knows Armageddon 2 is coming. He saw Gabriel's trial when in Heaven with Muriel. He knows very well Azi will be used for this. Well, Crowley was showing Azi through the years how Heaven really is: Job, flood, Golgota, Azi saw what was done in Sodoma and Gomorrah. But there is a difference between seeing and actually experiencing. Azi now needs to experience the cruelty of Heaven himself, get his ass kicked to understand and leave and be fully on the side of Crowley. He is naive still, it was Crowley after all who asked too many questions. Azi was doing as he was told. He lives life through his books. I hope that on the end they will be together, and the next kiss will be more tender ;)
