OK, in fact, is Steve Vai vs... Steve Vai (he played both parts for sound). Ralph Macchio is a talented actor but not a professional guitar player, and no way at that level (which is very, very high for professionals also).

One thing has always puzzled me about this movie. So you sell your soul to the devil, and that's supposed to be a bad thing, right? And your punishment is to spend eternity in Hell, playing electric guitar in a hot blues band in a roadhouse, surrounded by beautiful women. I am having trouble seeing the downside here.

get your facts straight pal. the guitars are played by vai, ry cooder and Bill Kanegiser. Crossroads is actually an awesome movie! do you think every actor you see do music parts in other movies actually play those parts? killer movie either way.
