I would consider getting a saturn vue equinox power steering unit i freakin love mine.

A good easy way to trim steering is with a laser pen, put it on the hub and shine it on the wall infront, also down the centre line of the car.

Haha I laughed so bad when you realized the steering was backwards. Another youtuber that built a gsxr750 buggy did the same thing so don't feel bad lol.

lol I bought plans for a buggy from Badland Buggy and in the plans they had the rack backwards. It even happens to professionals.

Heck I've always aligned my own vehicles with a framing square. I've never been to an alignment shop.

I can see you don't have much experience with this sort of build. Taking that into consideration your doing a really nice job so far. Keep it up. If we lived little closer Id come build some projects with you!

Its tube but with this small of a diameter I believe it should be solid. Or thick wall tube. Its what I had laying around, and I will do it right on the production buggy

Framing squares and level got you a new subscriber. oh no! you cut out the rack mount and didn't change the angle, loose the extra universal.

I am going to predict rapid wear on your rack.. start budgeting for a heavy duty howe or something.. trust me that is a LOT of throw for such a small rack.. this car is looking sick brother!!

why didn't you angle the rack after you had cut the mount?

I was just thinking about this while in progress of building my kart if the Rack is turning the wheels right while the steeringwheel is turning counterclockwise put the rack on upsidedown and that solves the problem. rack gear on top counterclockwise turn right side pushes out rack gear on bottom it pushes out left. My brain was "SMOKING" on that one

Cool build! that reverse steering could have been cool.

Ackermann can also be changed by the position of the steering quickener. Dont do anything about it (reverse steering), it happened to me for the first time. 😂

My mate built a barracuda and designed and builds his own LSDs for them, few guys in Australia have purchased for theirs. Could work in yours too if interested.

I have mine set to 13 but its harbor freight junk wife wont let me spend stimulus on the internet and weld shop wants my arm and leg for a new bucket

Google 14" end load rack

Hi you need to phase your steering joints otherwise they will quick slow quick slow as you turn . also when you turned your steering rack why not angle it then ? other than that good build love watching from the lockdown UK

if i remember correctly each steering knuckle has to be 90 deg turned in respect to each other . try some of the locost 7 sites they are pretty good at these things

What happened to the channel

Two joints in the steering is much safer in a front collision, it will allow the shaft to collapse rather than stab you in the chest! When realizing the rack was in backwards why didn’t you angle it and take some of the stress out of the U joints? I would also figure out why the front tires aren’t turning equally and fix that otherwise I think you will be changing tires sooner than you want to.

The steering is an Ackerman setup so one wheel is supposed to turn more than the other. And I've been getting a lot of that question! Lol
