This is one of my favourite animatics ever, I've rewatched it by now a hundred times and never get tired of it! Not only you did a great work in how you imagined everything in it, the song also works perfectly in here! I dare say, you made this song work better for Catra and Adora than it did for Rapunzel and Cassandra!!! It's so well made, so in character as well!!! Just... I agree, in some ways this song is better suited for Catra and Adora than Cassandra and Rapunzel in general, and this animatic displays that perfectly!

If sans animatic, I think this song works better for Catra and Adora. I only just started watching She-ra last week (already on season 4), but even I can see Catra and Adora have been having this same argument, ramped up every encounter, ever since Adora defected. Heck, even before, considering how Shadow Weaver treated Catra in comparison to Adora (the favoritism is real). Cassandra's defection kinda came out of nowhere. Like, yes she gets annoyed with Rapunzel's shenanigans a lot but it felt always gets resolved because at the end of the day, Cass realized Raps had absolutely no life experience for her entire life and the girl is still adjusting to a brave new world. Cass' misplaced anger on Raps, instead of Gothel, is weird because it's not actually given time to develop pre Zhan Tiri influence. I think the biggest reason for this is that this show wasn't a great blend of the episodic and serial designs. Like there were so many stand alone episodes that didn't address the initial story line brought forth that they ended up scrambling to fit all the serial stuff at then end so as catchy as this song is, it doesn't quite fit the narrative presented whereas if She-ra was a musical, it would totally fit and @kaereth totally brought that to life.

Personally, I feel like the character of Cassandra was a clumsy attempt of making a character as deep and well made as Catra, which is a pity cause the show managed to make a very well done 'villain' with Varyan. I think the Rapunzel show had many good points, but... Cassandra definitely ended up being tied to the weakest part of the show, and again I completely agree with what you said. Enjoy the end of She Ra!!

the Catra scene at 2:28-2:33 is absolutely incredible, like beyond amazing.

AAAHHHHH THIS GAVE ME CHILLS. LITERAL CHILLS. There is just so much to love about this: 1. The clean lineart! The gorgeous art style! 2. How the song fits them so perfectly?? 3. The way you captured Catra emotions? You had me belting out the song with all the rage of an angsty catgirl 4. The meaning behind the colours with white for Adora and grey for Catra. *chefs kiss 5. You got in the whole story, from s1 still felt like she could be redeemed Catra, to breaking down s4 Catra, to that last "crossing the line" with s5 Catra going over to Adora!! 6. Literally EVERYTHING ELSE. Best she ra animatic I have seen hands down. Btw I absolutely love your art on Insta

It's legit awe inspiring to see the fandom still going so strong after the show ended. This was amazing!

I love how you show how much Catra grew in the show. I wasn't sure if she was worthy of a redemption in season 3 but made up for it in season 5. This song just fits Catra's frustrations. If anything this song matches our own frustration of being noticed by our peers and family.

@@pupincess idk, i think they changed too much Cass' personality in order to have this plot. Plus, Rapunzel never had all those things Cass claimed she had. She was kidnapped and manipulated by their narcissist mother. I get she was blind by jealousy, but still...

i read a comment like this in every animatic w this song and it always baffles me how much someone can miss the point of a show and reduce it to surface value. yes the gothel thing is what ultimately let cassandra snap as it relieved a childhood trauma, but was it the only reason she turned on raps? NO the whole tree special builds to this and even some bits from the first season, she has inferiority complex and the only meaningful relationships in her life has a power imbalance that eventually causes it to ends. and don't tell me cass had people other than rapunzel. she admits her dad was rigid and tried to lock her in a convent, she came to respects eugene but ultimately is annoyed by him and didn't develop a deep connection like with rapunzel, varian became a criminal. I perfectly understand why she's lost

Fun fact, Catra is 17-18 at the start of the series, and 20-21 at the end of season 5.

Dude, that little part at 2:16 taken from 'Fractures' is probably my fav part of this entire animatic. It just captures the entire scene so well from the way it goes from her fake smile over to her breakdown, that scene's one of my favs in the show and it's always felt so underrated to me and This animatic just captured it so well in like, a few frames

The thing is, Cassie singing that to Punzie fails miserably since Rapunzel already had her established happily ever after with prince Eugene/Flynn Ryder before the _Tangled_ TV series even began, so Cassie wanting a relationship with Punzie was never going to happen anyway, so the whole idea was sunk before it ever started.

Catra and Adora are more or less the same size, normally. As She-Ra, Adora is much, much taller and buffer.

U gave me goosbumps.. i love catra's character so much and when i talked to people about catra they were usually like "her redemption arc was so quick" or "she did just all of it bc of trauma and experience" tbh i believed that she was left out since adora was always the best. She just wanted to be worthy and good enough for Shadow weaver.. she wanted prove her worth and wanted shadow weaver to be proud of her. She wasn't jealous of Adora but she wanted to feel loved and cared like all children needed that age... And seeing someone who reflected this instead of just making an animatic includes the main ship. This is so powerful. Thank you as someone who relates Catra. You made my day and you reminded me of what i wanna do for the rest of my life and why i wanna do it. :)

Too bad. It was never going to happen. Rapunzel already had her prince in Eugene/Flynn Ryder before the _Tangled_ TV series even began, so Cassie being her spurned sister was the only real alternative, since Disney's never been really into shipping LGBTQ+ characters (Hell, it's no doubt part of the reason why _The Owl House_ was cancelled, even if bisexual creator Dana Terrace seems to deny this for the sake of her own career & ex-CEO Bob Chepak said it was because _The Owl House_ doesn't fit the Disney "brand" -- whatever nonsensical bullocks that means -- which is more than likely corporate double speak/code language for saying, "I'm cancelling it because of the LGBTQ+ shipping because I'm an ultra-conservative asshat kowtowing to homophobic overseas counties, but will cite the fact that it's a serialized show airing on Disney Channel when the company's deliberately dividing up the audience among the 2 cable channels & the streaming service so that the more serialized shows do better on Disney+, whereas Disney Channel is more for non-serialized programming tailored for young adolescents & Disney XD is for those shows marketed towards older teens that are used to basically mold celebrities of the future out of relatively unknown child stars & cartoons that are for slightly older preteens that aren't serialized, even though _The Owl House_ had no choice but to air on Disney Channel at the time it did because Disney+ had not yet launched officially when the show started airing on TV").

I love the ending! This song is so perfect for them and it was nice to see the change compared to how the tangled version ends and the play on “crossing the line”
