CrossFit Games Open 21.1 Redo | Noah Ohlsen
Alright, here it is!
Was hoping to be able to one and done all the Open workouts this year. Alas, after looking back on my first attempt at 21.1, my hands left the tape line slightly before both feet were on the wall a handful of times at the beginning of the workout. Came in today, really focused on nailing the standard, and did even better! Enjoy.

Whatever mindset you found for this workout is the mindset you need for every workout. That was great. It reminds me of your mary performance at 2019 games.

@@antoineputzsoundfotobasgit6244 Remember I asked, what’s so “athletic” about this? I’m sorry, but doing jump rope and whatever you call that other thing isn’t “athletic”. He’s obviously in good shape. But for what? All the top cross fitters can claim is that they’re “best at exercising!” He won a P.E. class. Most cross fitters are washouts from other sports.

@@liamfrost1037 Yeas no thanks. I’ll stick to traditional workout programs that don’t completely fuck you up in the fastest way possible. I like the philosophy and spirit of CrossFit. The ideas of being prepared for anything and having good general fitness, and that doing hard things builds character. But I’m sorry, anyone that knows anything about biomechanics knows that doing things like gymnastics, Olympic lifting and plyometrics with a fatiguing protocol is the best recipe I can think of to produce injury the quickest way possible. For example anyone doing snatches or deadlifts for “time” is a fucking idiot. That’s why I don’t do CrossFit.
Um monstro, uma besta enjaulada ... Nice work Ohlsen !!!
Great job Noah! I’m a new follower but that was inspiring to watch. You didn’t look overly gassed by the time you hit the 210 d/u in my opinion... and I have to say, your intro outdoes all other CrossFit athletes I’ve been following! Keep it up man!
that many double unders unbroken after all that shoulder fatigue is just insane. big kudos from Hawaii
My guy 👊🏽 Love the accountability! If only everyone was like this and honest. 2021 is your year!!!
Wishing you success in this 2021 season Noah! Ready to see you on the top!
Dude, absolutely killed it and followed movement standards WELL DONE!!!

your efficiency on the wall walk and the endurance of the shoulders are awesome!!!

Well thought out approach and attention to detail to avoid no reps. Smart move on the redo, great job, good luck this season!!
I made same mistake in my first attempt, only a couple reps. Redo all my reps are good and I beat my score! I got 402 reps which I am very happy with
Pulling for you to win it all this year.

With roids..
Was much easier to redo after the first attempt - same for me. Saved 50 seconds in 2nd attempt - nevertheless, allowed couple of mistakes with hands earlier than required and got minor penalty so increased the time from 12:51 to 13:03. Keep going

the whole video is just way under the time cap... so I imagine his time and I look at my score within the time cap and feel like sh1t. Next time you better fill up the video with extras at least the time cap duration. :)

Someone answer me this. If CrossFit games competitors are the “fittest on earth”, then why could none of them pass the Marine Corps PFT with a perfect score? Because none of them could. It’s because the CrossFit games in my opinion are far too biased towards strength and don’t factor in speed or endurance.
@davidwaxman9632
3 жыл бұрын
I'm not familiar with the PFT, but I'll take your word for it. It's a different test and emphasis and that's OK. This particular WOD was pure body weight.
@Tablespoonmischief
3 жыл бұрын
@@davidwaxman9632 It’s the Marine Corps Physical Fitness Test. You can google it. Good cross fitters could past most of it with a maximum score, but top games competitors are too big to pass the 3 mile run test. They could pass of course, but not with a maximum score, which is 3 miles in 18 minutes or under.
@davidwaxman9632
3 жыл бұрын
@@Tablespoonmischief that's pretty darn fast.
@Tablespoonmischief
3 жыл бұрын
David Waxman 18 minute 3 mile run is decent, but not world class. Most games competitors couldn’t crack 21 minutes. The point is, crossfitters aren’t any more fit for anything that anyone else who follows a good all around fitness program and games competitors are weightlifters who have zero endurance or speed. If they have speed, then how come none of them can crack 60 seconds for a 400? If they truly have endurance, then can any of them do a sub 3 hour marathon? Or a sub 12 hour Iron Man? Those aren’t world record times by any means, but they’re decent times for competitive amateurs, and times games athletes still couldn’t achieve. Because games athletes are weightlifters and gymnasts.
