Cross-strait relations: Is the 1992 Consensus still relevant?
Taiwan's incoming President William Lai is set for inauguration on Monday (May 20). China asserts that his party, Democratic Progressive Party is pro-independence, meaning the DPP's leadership, in Beijing's eyes, is pursuing the idea of establishing an independent country. Cross-Strait relations have been strained, with China ramping up military drills, as well as political pressure, in a bid to assert its sovereignty over the island. The main reason for this is the party's rejection of the 1992 consensus which Beijing views as the basis for maintaining ties with the island. CNA's Victoria Jen explains.

Congrats to the Taiwanese 🇹🇼 who have enjoyed in their country: - voting, - transparency, - freedom of speech, - freedom of press, - a good economy, and - good relations with Western countries. China 🇨🇳 has none of those things.

well said bot!
It doesn't matter how many times the Chinese regime repeats the *lies,* or how *angry* it pretends to be, - Taiwan 🇹🇼 is still an independent country.

William Lai is a beacon for Taiwanese sovereignty and the protection of the Taiwanese national identity. Chinese attempts to invade a peaceful Taiwan would be misguided.
Since it's between PRC and ROC, it's still relevant. It's the DPP wich is irrelevant.
If no compromise, then China will liberate Taiwan by force.
Taiwan Province, good luck !
