Crosby, Stills, and Nash (Separately) with Bob Costas, 1989, 1991
June 26 & 27, 1989. Graham Nash
January 30 & 31, 1991. David Crosby
October 29 & 30, 1991. Stephen Stills
All three two-part appearances on Later with Bob Costas have been separately uploaded by others in various levels of completeness and clarity. These here come from my own tape collection. All are complete, though, due to copyright caution, I’ve edited out all of the music and film clips that were inserted into the interviews for air.
Also included are the promos for the shows that aired during The Tonight Show station breaks (though I couldn't include the promo for Nash, Part 2).
And a coda. For David.

Can you imagine the electricity in the room when Nash first sang with Stills and Crosby? It must have been an earth shaking experience for everyone in the room. Their harmony is so beautiful that it makes my head spin. Thanks for posting the interviews.
love this guy!! Crosby will be missed by so many...R.I.P.
The realization or epiphany that I have had watching these interviews is that these”Legends” were basically just people! We have all traveled the road of our lives, and it’s great to get a glance of the steps of theirs. Thank You Don for putting these all together.
Amazing 👏 I really enjoyed watching. Thanks.
Muito obrigada! Sou da Amazônia, ( Belém do Pará). Minha juventude foi também com essas belas canções e muito rock 🎸!
Swell compilation, Don. I think I've seen every Later video on youtube but It's nice to have these together as a unit. Bob was an excellent interviewer - thoughtful questions, interesting conversations and a sense of humor too.
You rock Don! Thank you for the uploads.
Good interview... So long ago now... David Crosby is now gone, Stephen Stills is deaf and Nash has been suffering from a crippling illnes! R.I.P. David 💔
RIP Crosby. Such amazing music from an amazing man.
Glad Letterman Inc. didn't sink you, Don. Thanks!

Getting to watch Costas after Letterman seemed too good to be true at the time. The quality of NBC programming in the '80s was a Golden Age of Television all by itself.
Thanks guys for sharing your beautiful gifts with us. You brought us so much joy!!! Life isn’t easy for anyone. RIP David.
"Strange as a snake's suspenders." Never heard that one before.
Thank you Don.
Awesome interview questions.
I adore the version of 'The Lee Shore' you ended the video with. It's absolutely perfect.
Don, this was a pure delight to watch. My interest in CSN and sometimes Y is casual, but all three of these interviews were fascinating! I learned a lot. Thank you for posting them. I miss your Letterman collections, and seeing the care that went into this collection reminds me as to why.

@@dongiller I miss that, too. It was great while it lasted, and I'm savoring all of your content.
Also, when he asked which one or two songs exemplified the best of what the various combos did, my immediate thought for Buffalo Springfield was 'Sit Down I Think I Love You'. I was very pleased that Stephen thought so too.

Awesome thank you!!!
Far out man. Rip David ❤..I will research u guys til I can't.. cool babes 😜
Graham talking about his three beautiful kids (none of them speak to him now) and his beautiful wife (after 40 years, he left Susan for a woman half his age, and then Susan died). And he never reconciled with David. All of Grahams favorite people in 1989 would be totally dead to him 27 years later.

Graham/Willy always seems to tick me off in every interview! Full of himself more than the others are of themselves.
He's always had great hair! Lol Even today!
And the rest… Is history❣️
❤ David ❤🧸🕊️✌️✔️
Hey there Don, I’m pretty sure I watched this on your channel but can no longer find it. In the transition from monologue to desk- letterman makes this remark saying something along the lines of “Do I always do this with my hands?” “What am I supposed to do with my hands. “he’s kind of holding his hands up midway in this odd manner.

Not a clue, sorry.
"The music will last beyond bad reviews from 'Rolling Stone.' So, I looked up Anthony DeCurtis' review of "American Dream" -- two stars. Lol.
Hey Don, if you ever have the time is there any chance you could do a compilation of all the times Dave imitates Jay Leno?

Even if I wanted to, due to an agreement with Dave’s production company since last March, I’m no longer able to upload additional Dave-owned or -licensed content. And besides, I’m sure you’ll find some, if not all, of Dave’s Leno impressions in my two-part Dave and Conan compilation.

Stephen Stills considered Cosby+Nash as his backup singers 😂 he sure is good enough to do that 😊 Nash has his fingers in the productions of a lot of great artists. Seeds of Memory for example.

To Stephen’s songs, yes. And David considered Stills-Nash as _his_ backup singers to _his_ songs. Likewise Stills-Crosby to Graham’s songs. This isn’t uncommon.
Nash and his weird haircuts.
