Is saoth liom osnadh an laoich luinn,

Aoife, inghion Oiliolla Arann;
A Fhionnghuala ‘sa Chuinn chaoimh,
A Aodh, ‘sa Fhiachra arm-chaoin.
Lir’s heart is a husk of gore,
Though many a victorious throw he has cast;
Sickness to me is the groan of the active champion,
Though it is I that have deserved his anger.
Evil was the fate by which I brought over you,
Aoife, the daughter of Oilioll Arann;
O Fionnghuala, and Conn the comely,
O Aodh, and Fiachra of the beautiful arms.
The Children of Lir is the first oratorio written in the Irish language, recorded by the London Symphony Orchestra and Tallis Chamber Choir, at Abbey Road Studios.
