It’s amazing how restrained Emperor Buggy was during the Marine attack the absolute faith he had in his loyal subordinate Crocodile to handle the Marines. Both because he trusted Crocodile to handle the Marines, and he knew that Crocodile didn’t need his help and wanted to handle this alone to show off a bit and prove himself to Captain Buggy. Truly theirs is a bond built on mutual respect and friendship that is unbreakable.

@@bizor22 Yup, and Logias if they're skilled enough and aware of Haki can warp their bodies *around* the blows of a Haki user, like Aokiji does against Whitebeard in the Paramount War. Armament Haki is an equalizer, but it's not an automatic "I win button." Not to mention although we've seen indications from Izo and Beckman that it *can* be done it's probably quite difficult to make a bullet hold the Armament Haki charge long enough to actually be a threat to a Logia.

I love how Crocodile has this weird warped respect for Buggy. If anything it comes off of more fascination for how Buggy manages to keep up this appearance through just letting people carry on rumors and through word of mouth than actual actions. He knows Buggy’s whole climb to power and fame is due to Buggy just knowing how to charm people into thinking he’s something greater (similar to what he did in Alabasta). However, for some reason Buggy has been able to keep this up without much trouble or effort and it seems to just keep growing naturally-unlike where he never fully got to that point.

Did Crocodile know the Warlord system was on its last legs when he gave Buggy that loan? Because if he did, it was a smart call to collect once the Warlords were officially abolished so that Buggy had no choice but to pay if he didn't want to be left to the Marines.

His bad luck for those looking in is good luck, first he ate the devil fruit when he intend to sell it, got captured and broke out of prison taking a large amount of cannon foughter pirates with him, became a war lord of the seas, then a Emperor, without using any known form of Haki, there is only two paths left for the marvelous Captain, er, I Emperor Buggy, one to become the Pirate king or the pirate who somehow ends up sitting upon the empty throne and declaring himself king of the world!!

I like the new design of both Mihawk and Crocodile!

Crocodile and Daz Bone had toughen considerably since the time-skip. The New World has Haki users so Croco couldn't be idle like he was in Arabasta.

@@Deathmare235 He was literally undercover for years without actively training, forced to do ship building for his mission in paradise. He's probably currently stronger than he's ever been easily, but he very likely lost strength during his time at water 7. Crocodile meanwhile was a new world person who fell off cuz he was avoiding fights, doing scheming, and lost a lot of his dreams till luffy beat him.

You know what's funny in this? Marines knew Crocodile as Shichibukai for soo long but they still didn't learned to use something that won't go through his body like it didn't even hit him. Sometime I start to think that Marines and WG weren't threatened by anyone for soo long they became completly dumb.

To be somewhat fair, Crocodile just happened to show up from nowhere in their perspective. Also Logia power users are very rare to run into to really plan accordingly to deal with them. Then there's also possibility Crocodile has improved a lot to the point he could just be doing what Katakuri had done, merely shifting his body in order to avoid getting hit using observation haki to see the attacks coming. A lot can happen in two years after all. Just throwing that out there for thought.

It's also vulnerable to being dispersed when given shape, and Hardening may be able to help with that. But given that he is a 'mastermind' type of villain, Observation could allow him to gather information to make more informed strategic decisions.

For all of Buggys bluffs, hes managed to upset the entire balance of the world on sheer fake confidence. Some men are born for greatness. Others have greatness thrust upon them.

I heard somewhere that Crocodile was originally going to be the final boss of the series before the vast interest of the story made Oda keep it going. Given how he's part of an Emperor's crew, he still might be there at the end.

This didn't have anything to do with respect or friendship Crocodile was just looking for his money 😂 Crocodile and Mihawk bulling the hell out of him.

I like to imagine that Crossguild is simply something Oda made up to place all of the bested villains that the strawhats beat before into one crew. So that one day there´ll be a Gauntlet of old enemies the Strawhats have to deal with. As a celebration for 2000 chapters or something.

Daz and Crocodile had become stronger in the past two years, you can see that they've had more mastery at their respective fruits. Crocodile being able to cut ships in the middle of the sea with his dry sand and Daz being able to use his fingers as claws is straight up lookin like wolverine and sabertooth mashed up.

​@@bqw2094 One of Oda's regrets that he's stated is in introducing Crocodile too early. Haki also wasn't a part of the story until basically the time skip, and we kinda have a weird interpretation now of who can and who can't use it. So I think alot of people sleep on Crocodile a bit since he was from this pre haki era of one piece really. If we scale him to characters who he faced off against in MarineFord though, it's a completely different story cause then he would be like as strong as Doflamingo was. One of the deciding factors I think is if his Devil Fruit has awakened. I saw this awesome theory that Logia Devil Fruit awakenings will permanently alter the landscape of where they were used: Akainu vs. Aokiji on Punk hazard for example. There's also a fun theory that Enies Lobby in the past was going to get destroyed by an ancient weapon and was defended from a Light Fruit eater like Kizaru having their awakening, which is why it's a day island which always has light and also why the entire ocean around it is a whole except for the island itself.

If water splashes on crocodile, he is unable to use his devil fruit power for a certain amount of time , but the man still has haki and a poison hook for a hand , he's not naive enough to rely on his devil fruit power , especially while he is in the new world .

@grammeland1 crocodile hasn't been shown using haki onscreen , because he has had very little screen time since the timeskip . It makes no sense for crocodile not to have haki , he learned the hard way you should never rely solely in your devil fruit power , especially when you are in the new world. There is no doubt in my mind that crocodile didn't get haki during the 2 year timeskip . My point about the poison hook is that crocodile can still use that of his devil fruit power is shut down, also I'm pretty sure he can dodge attacks and bullets , even without the use of his fruit .

I'm totally convinced that luffy won against crocodile at that was only because of luck and plot armour obviously otherwise at marineford even akainu was pissed that croc is on their side and didn't attack him back also just like gecko in his prime fought kaido and croc also fought whiteboard and we can assume that during that fight before fighting wb he probably defeated atleast one of his commander. He tanked jozu's haki diamond speed hit which pre timeskip couldn't survive period
