I suggest that you sear the roast in a good old cast iron frying pan to get better caramelization for that great roast flavour.

I have this and absolutely love it !!! I had an Instant Pot but sauteed feature usually burned the food. The Crock Pot sautes nicely. So glad I purchased this. HIGHLY RECOMMEND !!

Hey, good video I just got the XL larger model and loving it!

How about comparing the Crock Pot pressure cooker to the Instapot after a year of use when the warranty ends. Both seem to have mixed reviews then and the companies won't fix or replace. Error messages start popping up and sometimes stop working. Or so I'm told from reviews. Can you speak to that? How good is the customer service departments for these products?

Great video. It was very informative. The only issue that I had was at 5:30 into the video something happened to the sound making it muffled and hearing what you were saying became a little difficult. Otherwise, this was an excellent video.

At 02:40... the inner pot will not last that long, as the material is aluminium, and the non-stick coat will deteriorate over time, Stainless steel is not difficult for saute. It de-glazes (cookery term, q.v.) just fine. At 03:02 ... where you waffle: "um, this is er, um, er, what's used to used to heat up the food?!"... Nope. In fact, the button inside on the inner base, is the switch. It ensures the heat element does not work without the liner pot being in situ. Under the bottom plate, there are other safety features (e.g. a cut-out switch) and a thermostat to control the cooking temperature.

you can buy instant pot 6 q stainless steel inner pot and use it in the crock pot if you wish. I had the non-stick bowl for 2 years , used it almost every day - the non stick is still fine and not much changed, obviously I'm washing it really carefully with the soft cloth. I also have 2 more pressure cookers from the different brands - all non stick , ceramic and teflon - all still in the good condition really, just use the silicon tools . The problem with stainless steel is that once you've roasted the food you must clean that before doing anything else as if you will proceed with pressure cooking on top of your "glaze" it will burn even more and more so it's just unhealthy, also with non stick i'm not using oil at all or using very small amount which is healthier and better from the calorie counts perspective..

Hole in the handles of the cooker are also for the lid. You don't have to put it on table. ;)

Y'all never made the comparison video. It's been way more than a few weeks. It's November and this was posted in January. I'm angry now. LOL

Hi. Late reply but for anyone who's curious, it's for collecting condensation. To be cleaned after cooking too.

Can anyone tell me if the bobber valve is just an open hole at the top of the lid or is there something that sits in the hole? I just got mine and I don't know if I'm missing the piece or if it simply releases steam from the hole itself. Please help.

IT HAS THE BOBBER VALVE. I LOVE THIS POT, BUT I HAVE LOST THE VALVE TWICE ON MY SECOND POT. I WANT TO GET ANOTHER.

I just bought it online from Best Buy for $35. I thought it would have a trivet. I'm surprised they didn't give one.

Wow! I got the same one for Christmas what a great review, can't wait to use mine. Never got the chance yet.

how was the roast? I am not really interested in carrotes or potatoes. It looks nice but you did not test it...

No, it's not. It's worse. Mine went to the appliance graveyard. Spend a few more dollars and get the instant pot or cook on stove/oven and save your money.

@@ciao614 cheaper, non-stick pot, clearer display and more user-friendly buttons. IP has random letters and numbers showing up when cooking and it's just an expensive item for what it is. There are lots of pressure cookers from different brands ( Tefal, Philips etc) which are not any worse and they all cost significantly lower vs IP

You must have asked Martine Munro for the correct recipe. She knows everything about cooking. We all watch for her comments.

You forgot to cut potatoes in half and when pouring liquid into the pot, must be done slowly

This is not a good interior of the pot is non stick because it's lined in plastic which is toxic. It should be stainless only. I would never buy this.

Roast has no crust and is not caramelized. Will lack that real beef flavour. But, some people do not even know what that is.

Crock Pot has an excellent name but only that now. They are no longer made in North America. We have one that is over 35 years old and still works great. The Crock Pot Pressure Cooker is not for us. We use an all stainless steel pressure cooker because that's what it is only intended to do.

The sound of your microphone is terrible... from time to time...

Before releasing a "How To Video" about any product I think a person should be well-versed in its operation. Do a lot of testing, reading and eating of the results before commenting. I know many people who have bought this product and the competitor, use them a few times and put them away in some dark place. People buy on impulse because they think it will make their life easier. No it won't. I can cook a Rib Eye in half the time it takes in any device of this kind. On the BBQ with far better flavour.

@@martinemunro2042 Rude or crude comments are not warranted , but, I understand that illiterate people use this type of communication regularly.

Too bad they went with aluminum and a synthetic non-stick coating. Scratch the coating and the teflon will start to deteriorate and get into your food. Stainless steel would have been a lot better for the inner pot. We use a real pressure cooker made of stainless steel that is far less expensive and cooks really well. If used properly it is non stick as well. Also ours is non-toxic where the materials used here and in the Instant Pot have toxic qualities.

You can buy a stainless pot for this on Amazon, but then I (silly me) think all these gadgets should come with an extra pot anyway.
