Crock Pot Country Style Pork Ribs
3 -4 lbs Country Style Pork Ribs (Not Baby Back Ribs)
1-2 tsp Garlic Powder
1 tsp Salt & Pepper
1 Can Cola, 8 oz or 12 oz can
1 ½ cups BBQ Sauce
1 large Onion, chopped
Directions:
1. Pour BBQ sauce in a medium sized bowl. Carefully stir in cola until well combined.
2. Grab your slow cooker and spray interior with cooking spray or line with crockpot liner.
3. Begin layering in your ingredients into the crockpot. Start with a layer of ribs, seasoned with salt, pepper, and garlic powder. Next, pour some (not all) of the sauce over the ribs. Just enough to coat them. Layer on some onions.
4. Repeat layers until you are out of ribs, sauce, and onions.
5. Put lid on crockpot and turn on to cook on low for 6-8 hours or high for 3-4 hours.
6. Once cooked, pull ribs out of crockpot and either serve as is or can brush on BBQ sauce and place under broiler for a few minutes to caramelize the sauce.
7. *Optional* To make ribs sticky with BBQ sauce, brush with additional BBQ sauce and place under broiler in oven for 2-3 minutes, or until edges are a bit browned and sauce is a bit sticky.
8. Serve with your favorite sides, like corn muffins, salad, or even rice or noodles.

Just saw your Crock Pot Country Style Pork Ribs video. Bravo. Keep doing what you do how you do it. You’re authentic and don’t have to apologize for anything. Very inspiring. Anyway, going to use your method for ribs for Super Bowl Sunday.
This recipe is money! Brings back some memories of mom cooking these in the oven. The whole house smelled wonderful! I’m using your recipe this week. Thanks!

Where I live nobody buys country style ribs, just babyback , so they are always super cheap . I prefer them every time if I have the choice.

That Pyrex measuring cup is a drip per when poured just like mine, is that a thing with Pyrex?

Honestly, I'm not sure. I understand what you mean though! Just seems to be a common issue with a lot of measuring cups, from my experience at least.
Will a diet soda work? I need to avoid sugar.

Absolutely! Diet soda should work fairly well. Do be careful what store bought BBQ sauce you use as well, as they can contain a lot of sugar, if you didn't already know.
Fried taters and onions and green beans would make that perfect!!!!

That sounds like a perfect meal!
Why the cola soda.. what does that do?
@NellyNummies

It adds a little zing and sweetness to the BBQ sauce. You can omit it of you prefer and the ribs will still turn out yummy. Some cooks also say marinating ribs in cola can help tenderize them, though I personally haven't tested this theory.
I saw a video today of some guy, he cooked them on high for 8.5 hours and couldn't figure out what he did wrong, lol!

Oh goodness! That is a really long time on high heat! 😲
You should be using the sauce that has already cooked with the ribs instead of more "out of the bottle" sauce.

It's just an option. You can leave them out if you prefer.
Those look like absolute shit.
