I am on Hospice care and barely able to be up out of bed due to pain and nausea. I started crocheting way back when I was expecting my first baby and picked it up again for a few months every decade or so but after I retired, I became a serious quilter complete with embroidery machine and long arm in my studio, but I simply don't have the strength and it kind of makes me sad that I can't quilt any more. My Granddaughter became interested in crochet recently, so I have been sharing some really sweet moments with her on a project and I discovered your vlog looking for patterns. Today you made my heart happy taking "us" on a trip through Joann's. It's been a few years since I was there and I truly enjoyed watching you find joy in all the moments that make life worth living. My grandma taught me how to crochet and they are some of my most cherished memories with her. It’s a special thing to share with someone and I find that so wonderful you two have that. I saw Kamryn Caine do a video where she put things she wanted to make in a jar and randomly chose! Its still a mystery video but its things you want to make instead of something random so its really fun. She also did oned that were like "I let xyz pick my crochet projects" and i thought that was really cool too!

Idea for your patterns (having never written one myself, so please excuse the advice if it's silly!!) maybe you could copy-paste from previous patterns that explain the basics. Or have a separate page in all of your pattern PDFs that explain how to do certain stitches so you can just insert that without having to include it in the main portion of the pattern. Personally, I'm new to crochet and would love to have the instructions in the main part of the pattern, but for more advanced crocheters, that might break their flow! I hope that all makes sense. I'm a new subscriber, and I'm loving all of your videos!! You're so sweet and relatable! Thanks for all this content that I can binge.

I personally love the idea of the sign for the mystery boxes. It reminds me of those cereal boxes where you can see which ones you could get but you still don't really know. I also agree I probably wouldn't just grab a total mystery box myself simply because of the way my mind works, especially as a crochet artist myself, anyone could easily throw in a clearance item just to get rid of it when most people probably wouldn't want it or would be disappointed and now they are stuck with something they totally didn't want, they would look at your table and see all you had available and assume it would be any of those items anyway. I think the key is a really good idea and I plan on doing something of the sort at my own markets for my own mystery boxes, so really thank you for the idea 🥰

I'm nowhere near ready for a market for any of my items (though I'm getting there 😂.) These are great ideas! I'd also make sure to have some sort of carbon copy receipt paper for the cash payments as well.

Maybe you can call it a blind box. The blind boxes at the store show what one you could get

I took inspiration from you for the mystery boxes and they did great at my last school carnival event! Good luck at your markets. I’m in Arizona and have 1 more event this Saturday and then will not do any more till the fall as it will be too hot!

Really enjoy your videos ❤. How fun to bejewel your sewing machine! I also carry wet wipes in my market bag for dirty hands; a quick table wipe and such,and I take along my inventory list so I can take inventory before I pack up ( usually pretty slow then anyway) so I know what I have when I get home and I don’t have to do it later.

There is no pattern unfortunately , i just made them up real quick. Essentially I crocheted a ball (circle) and then two magic circles with 6 sc in them each to make two eyes and sewed them on top. I hope that helps!!
