Crochet Ruffle Shell Hair Scrunchies for Beginners

Crochet hair scrunchies very easy for beginners. Great for scrap yarns and quick projects. This is less than 45 minutes to make, 34:19 minutes to be exact. I was just curious how long it takes so I used my phone stopwatch.
If the video is too fast or slow: click the video settings or the 3 dots & set to your desired playback speed.
Yarn used: Light weight yarn 100% cotton (yarn bee sugarwheel cotton).
I also used a sport weight yarn mercerized cotton(the yellow and purple scrunchie on video).
Crochet hook: 3.5mm
Tip: For best results, stretch those stitches out. Shows at 12:04 in the video.

Ch- chain
St/s-stitch/es
Sp-space
DC-double crochet
Time lapse:
2:02 Round 2
4:22 Round 3
7:49 Round 4 Working into the skipped stitches.

Yes, I made one with acrylic, light weight also. It came out nicely. I haven't try it yet with medium 4 weight.

Seems like a bit of effort for a scrunchie but the end result is lovely thank you i will definitely be making some for my granddaughters they will love them thank you..

Hi, If you begin with 12DC. You also increasing 12 sts in every round. 12, 24, 36, 48,60 and so on.

How would I make this for a 3 or 4-year-old with much less hair? One uses hair elastics of 7/8" and the other uses hair elastics of only 1/2". They LOVE the picture of these on a bun! Thank you!!!
