🔥 Frequently Asked Questions:
Do you have a left handed version of this video? If you are left handed, you can convert ANY video on KZread yourself! Simply go to www.mirrorthev... and follow the instructions to mirror flip any video to convert to left handed!
How much yarn will I need? This is a very tricky question to answer as there are so many variables! How much yarn you need will depend on which yarn you choose, the thickness of that yarn, your tension and how large you want your finished project to be. I suggest making a small sample first so you can gauge how much yarn you'll need. If making a crochet square, you can weigh your finished square to work out how much yarn it used!
How many squares do I need for a blanket? That all depends on the size of the square you are making and how big you want your finished blanket to be! I always advise making one square first then measuring the size of it. From there you can work out how many squares you will need to get the blanket size you want 😀
Do you have the written pattern? Yes! I have written patterns to accompany my video tutorials on my website here: www.hookedbyro... The written pattern is generally released a week or so after the video tutorial to ensure there are no errors in the video itself and to make amendments in the written version if any are found. All the written patterns are FREE to access on my website
How can I print the pattern from your website? Do you have downloadable PDF's? Not at this time no. This may change in the future but for now, I only provide the written pattern directly on my website.
Can you remake this video so it is slower? If the video speed is too fast, you can slow it down! 😀 See this video on exactly how: • How to Adjust the Spee...
Why do you use American stitch terminology? I learnt using USA stitch terms, long before I even knew there was a difference between UK & US terminology! American terms are my "first language" so to speak. If you need a conversion chart, I have one here! www.hookedbyro...

After having a stroke four years ago, I am finally able to crochet again. Before stroke, I was fanatic about crocheting and actually had been able to make doilies and tablecloths with fingering yarn and the smallest hook. I actually was able to make up my own patterns. With with the help of my family, Healthcare team, and a lot of prayer, I have started to crochet again. You and so many other instructors on KZread, have encouraged me and inspired me to crochet again. I just wanted to make sure somebody tells you how important you are to many of us. While I was in rehab discovered I could do finger knitting using soft super bulky yarn. My right side of my body was affected by the stroke and I found it that I needed to. Develop a system of using both hands. I found I had the Knack of making very long chains and I was known for my colorful strips of ropes, trailing behind my Wheel chair, around the halls. After I moved to my foster home, I was still not able to hold a hook, Loop yarn became my new best friend. All my family and friends now have blankets or scarves and hats made with this novelty yarn. Now on to actually using hooks ghtbecause I had all that yarn I used to make all those miles of ropse and my family decided that they had blankets. I started out with a 12 mm hook and super bulky yarn. I am now using a 6.5 mm hook and graduated down to using the red hearts Unforgettable yarn. RIght now I do need to stay with working on repetitive patterns because my attention span is not the way it used to be. I saw this beautiful wrap and thought I can do this. Problem is I can't hold too many pieces together because of dexterity challenges. Is there a pattern using this sequence of stitches in a row by row a turn? Just hoping. You are very gifted, as well as others on KZread, sharing your love of this art. I am so blessed by you. Thank you. Oh, I forgot to tell you this is my very first time of sharing my story in print. Thinking of what I want to say, transferring that thought into sentences, and then to scream has been a new experience also. Thank you for allowing me this time. Marj Clinton

What a wonderfully inspiring comment to read Marj! Thank you so much for taking the time to write 🙂 I'm not sure I've seen this done in back and forth rows before BUT I am sure there must be something similar out there - a slanted shell type pattern (of which there are lots) would give a similar effect. Especially if you used a larger hook with your yarn for a more lacey open effect? I hope that somewhat helps, I will have a little play with some yarn to see if I can figure this in back and forth rows x

Very nice. I think I may attempt a blanket with this technique + try to attach the second row to the first not the third shell.

Beautiful pattern! I’ve had an idea to use it to make ‘stems and leaves’, then add some flower appliqués to one end, and tassels the other for roots! I’ll pop a pic on you Facebook once I’m done! Just gotta pick which flowers to make!

@Hooked by Robin I really want to make this, but I literally started making a one mile blanket prior to this video popping up AND I have got another 5 projects in progress already 🤪🤣 maybe when I've completed these and my arm stops hurting from so much crocheting 😆

Robin this is such a cute and unusual pattern. It is lovely. However, I wish you could slow it down a little at the beginning. I feel I missed something in making the shell and then going on to the next. I've rewatched the video but still I have problems. Well thank you again for a beautiful pattern. ❤️
