I'm happy to see this modified hdc instead of using a sl st. I crochet tightly, I am a very experienced crocheter BUT as experienced as I am, I have difficulty in keeping a consistently loose and uniformed sl st row after row. The modified hdc gives me a break from trying to make sl sts look nice and even...THANK YOU!
Hi again dear Shirin, I am making this beanie using 4mm hook with an acrylic/wool yarn for my husband. I made 8 chains more but I think I shouldn’t. Because your measurements was perfect.

In the transcript it reads 61

Yes it states in the transcript 61 chains and that’s how I heard her say it as well. But as I am watching it for Row 1 she did 26 single crochets and then 34 half double crochets which equals 50…..therefore she must have only chained 51 to make that work.
