It is a really fun craft. I recommend making simple squares/rectangles for a while to work on your tension but once you got that down there are tons of projects you can do. This project is a rectangle for the most part so you could make it without the flap or try the decrease to make the flap.
Love this! Working on a blanket for my sister-in-law who’s turning 13 soon. Definitely going to make this with the scraps. About how much yarn did yours take?

For the small size that I made I used 110 yds of yarn the material list is at 0:31 .
