I don't think that is anything unusual for that town; it's certainly not a tsunami. People seemed to be expecting it, and were there to watch. The still-wet mud on the road (2:11 - 2:25) indicates it has happened before, and very recently. My guess it is the high tide coming in, which reverses the flow. There are many places where this happens - St. John and Moncton in New Brunswick, to name just two.

@@sahalperen7103 Evidently you know little about tides. In most places they are a gradual up or down, yes, but in some cases the incoming tides will produce very sudden rises in water level - look up "tidal bore" for examples. An exceptionally high tide might also cause water to rise above where it normally would. In any case, what we see in this video is not a tsunami - it just a higher than usual incoming tide. BTW, you use of the word "honey" above was a condescending and sexist remark - entirely unnecessary. Do you treat all women like that when you happen to disagree with them?

This is not a river, but the adriatic see. What you see is not a tsunami as we know it, but a meteo-tsunami or seiche, developing due to differencies in the air pressure. These are far less dangerous and "common" so the locals are used to it. You can observe the same phenomenon in Venice for instance, when the sea floods the streets.

This probably was the tsunami from an earthquake which happened in Greece on the same day. This time tsunami was small enough to be funny - especially for children. However, perfect timing from the bucket man. One bucket pour and the whole canal flooded :D

This phenomenon is called sciga in croatian and it's caused by the combination of rising tide and wind, just like acqua alta (high water) in Venice. The particular shape of Adriatic Sea helps this situation but the most important factor is the beautiful yet small canal in Vrboska, which maximizes the factors (tide and wind), creating a funnelled wave like in a bath tub. total-croatia-sailing.com/blog/the-temporary-flooding-of-vrboska-canal-all-ok-now-video/

I lived on Broad Channel Island in NYC and my street would disappear for a few hours during the full moon tides each month. Sucked during winter mornings having to piggy back the kids up the to the main road in 2-3 feet of water to get to dry ground so they could walk to school......lol .....nothing like fresh snow floating on saltwater.
