Like the 1936 Olympic men’s crew team, George Clooney came around at a time when movies had grown stale and political agendas ran rampant in movies with depressing, often very nihilistic themes. As a Seatleite and a reader of the book and have spent time seeing the memorabilia in Paulsbo, I thought the movie was one of the BEST I've seen in a long time. I came away feeling GREAT

What do critics know? It's in the word, critics criticise, end of story. I've seen this film, and I loved it. It's only January, and I'm of the opinion I won't see a better film this year

Great review- ya can only put so much in a movie. I sometimes row at the Joe Rantz boat house in Lake Stevens Wa and did some work with Pocock boat builders. Movie critics quite often get it wrong...

Ya there’s always critics
I read the book years ago to many members of the WWII generation, and they absolutely loved it. We watched the PBS American Experience documentary together, too. The book was incredible and this movie certainly did it justice. A great American triumph!
I always go to movies that critics do not like, they are the best! I have seen the movie 2 times and may go again.

One of the best movies ever. The actors, dialogue, scenery. I know nothing about rowing but this movie brought it to life. Who cares what critics say. I know what I like and it has nothing to do with someone else’s opinion.

Wonderful Wonderful movie - the critics are just that- overly critical. Audiences love this movie - the critics are wrong. Go see it yourself!!! Make up your own mind!
I watched the PBS American Experience show before viewing the movie. I have not read the book and the added knowledge beforehand made the movie so much better. I really enjoyed it and came away with a new appreciation for the sport of rowing.
Time constraints limit all you wanted to see..

How beautifully ironic. Clooney is the drudge of the “woke”. 😂 Sweet. The movie didn’t do well. If someone else produced it, it would have broken records. A-hole directors matter.
