Beautiful. The film makes me want to find the crits in my area and go watch and support the racers.

Well done Angus and team - beautiful cinematography and storyline. Gritty bike racing in the US. Certainly for the love of sport and not money.

Angus once again surpasses himself as not only a great filmmaker, but also as someone being able to capture and convey human emotion in the most poetic way. With this film (and all the other thereabouts films) Angus establishes himself at the best cycling related director. Good metaphors, good music, good images, thanks a lot Angus and team.

Wow what an amazing story. I did Superweek (now TOAD) 4 summers and yes it was the most memorable time of my life. I loved the people, the racing, the mid west thunder storms, same host family, and the experience. My parents drove from NE to WI to watch me race and I remember my dad (not very close) was amazed to to see it all. Awe the memories in sleeping in a basement and watching the tour (we don't have basements in LA).

Your filming and ability to story tell through the characters you bring to life makes me watch and appreciate things I never would have normally watched! I'm a cyclist and have never understood the whole 'crit thing' but I get it now. Thank you!

Beautifully made look into the humble, human scene that is US crit racing. Thank you. Would love to see a doc at this level on Latino racers that feature heavily in North American bicycle racing. So many powerful stories there yet to be told.

@35:30 yeah, judges/referees hate accountability. We should press to make them accountable. The rule of not changing a decision is an ego rule more than anything else. Bad/un fair judging = bad competition. No way around it.

crit racing is like nascar, it lacks in many areas, this is because no one wants to see a long ass race with a bunch of climbing so they shorten it and its just some laps with a sprint, where only the sprinters shine. the best world tour climber or gc guy wouldnt stand a chance and yet theyre the known to be the best cyclists in the world, in these crit races they would be nothing because they wouldnt be able to show case their amazing talents. its a shame the sport will never blow up in america. but at least we have gravel now.

USA cycling officiating has been the worst since the inception. My father went through this garbage back in the 50s and 60s and myself until 4years ago when I retired.

Very disingenuous comment. What defines a real bike race Adam? A UCI World Tour race? Couldn’t be more polar opposite but nobody is comparing the two. This is still the highest level of road racing in the country worthy of examining and they are certainly “real” bike races.
