It’s honestly unbelievable how much he has transformed over the course of his career. From dribbling, trickery, assists to finishing, strength, goalscoring. People say Messi’s better than him and while maybe true, CR7 really just doesn’t get enough recognition for his completeness. He has been world class at everything at some point in his career.

Its a shame for Ronaldo that he joined United probably at the start of Fergie's worst period in the Prem era. 2003-2006 was a tough transition period where Keane lost his legs, scholes got the eye problem,Ferdinand got the ban. He stood out a mile in terms of his injection of electricity, The team was getting really stagnant during those initial 03/04 years. Really lacked pace.

It's a shame, but he still turned it around. I would see it as a learning process. Taught him that nothing comes easy, which is probably why he is so successful wherever he's been.

@@nicobrinx perhaps. That is something I always ask and something we will never know. The question being.. . Would Cristiano had have the same hunger, drive, menrality, work ethic (in football), if he had gone to spain first. Its something which we can only have an opinion and impossible to know for sure but we do like to think his time at United shaped his mentality. England is certainly tougher in that period and the Utd dressing room had little time for big time Charlie's.

@@neckdaily3292 first 4 seasons? Just because he didn’t win ucl doesn’t mean they were hell. 3 season Madrid finished with +90 points included a centurion season where he won the league. Also made it to the ucl semis 3 out of 4 seasons and arguably his best ever season came in them 4 seasons

@@maguirethegoat213 I think Mourinho's tactics were becoming archaic by 2011 - especially by 2013 after Klopp and Heynckes had taken the German philosophy to its logical conclusion - and likewise with Barcelona possession football, both hindering Ronaldo and Messi respectively as far as Europe was concerned. Ironically, you make a case that Messi and Ronaldo both won most of their CLs outside of their prime (Messi before 2012, Ronaldo after 2012) - I know people will disagree about their primes beginning/ending, but I think people get the gist.
