I think I know why other players hate christiano ronaldo so much and prefer messi. I don't know, Messi seems untouchable, Christiano Ronaldo is more human, I think it's easier to hate on a man than someone like Messi who seems to be almost beyond that. Its very one sided for Messi. It’s only such a big debate between fans because obviously fans judge with their sentimental value and who they like and what team they love/hate. Choosing messi makes sense from a tactical point of view, because he is a playermaker that also scores a lot of goals. Ronaldo is a goal scoring machine with some playmaking. To me comparing them is like comparing a defender to a striker. Would you say that Messi is better than a defender like Puyol for example? no, because they both play different roles. Messi talents would be useless as a pure striker, limited as a winger, crap as a defender and useless as a goalkeeper. He is the best attacking midfielder we've ever seen and that's that. There is no best player, just best position or great players that can play multiple position decent or very good.
